I'm undecided on it. I would like to think there is more afterwards. I know people that "talk to the dead" so it woud be difficult to be able to reconcile that aspect.

No. I understand it's comforting to think there is an afterlife, because it's scary to think that you live your life, die and that's it, poof, your existence is just a miniscule little dot in the spectrum of life on earth, but at the end of the day, that's really what I think it is.
I take heart that we do live on - through our children, and in people's memory of us, and through our impact on our community. I like to think about it that way because it's more of a here and now perspective.

True - that's the ultimate question that no one can answer. I'm a skeptic, and a true scientist at heart, so I beleive there has to be some practical answer, that we, as humans, just cannot comprehend or understand, unless and until I'm proven otherwise. Until I'm proven otherwise, the only thing I truly believe in is natural selection and evolution.

Ohhh, I totally agree with you on that one, but as much as I would like to think there's some mysterious power directing everything, so there's a *reason* for everything, deep down, I don't think there is. I think though, that humans have this inherent need to believe that there is, maybe it has something to do with our higher understanding in comparison to all other species, and that is the reason why 90% of the human population has believed in one kind of religion or another ever since modern human beings came into existence.
I'm seriously babbling... tired.

I do. I feel that love is energy and I know it doesn't die when a physical body dies. So there must be something else. It really is that simple for me.
