Re: do you "clean" for the cleaning lady?

We had one growing up and my sister is a slob, so much so that her bed was covered in junk, her floor, everywhere. My parents used to write a note on her door that said "don't clean" because seriously, that would take forever lol Her room only got cleaned by the cleaning lady if she cleaned it first... sounds weird lol

Ha! i find myself always straightening up the evening before she comes too

not actual cleaning (because i pay her to do that) but more straightening up junk so she doesn't think we're messy Chat Icon

I don't clean-- but I put things away so they can clean. I'd rather them spend their time really cleaning, than let's say putting away DDs toys, or other things that I won't be able to find since I wasn't the one putting away.

My mom usually likes to fry the night before the cleaning lady arrives...but then she cleans the gas stove top immediately after...lol.

I suggest you just put things away so she can vaccuum/mop the floors and clean as many surfaces as possible.

Yes, it's a mad dash the night before she comes! Chat Icon I don't clean, but I put everything away and pick up.

Mine comes Sundays for like 9 hours and starts at like 8:30AM. I don't remember to declutter until I wake up so I'm literally shoving crap in closets and drawers at 7:30AM!

we just make sure all our clothes, shoes, papers etc are put away and out of the way so they can clean everything thoroughly... but we don't "clean"

Yes we get the house ready for her.

DH thinks she should do all that but I try to explain she is the cleaning lady not the maid.

Oh yeah, that's me. And the laundry fairy.

yeah, I definitely agree with the posters who talk about de-cluttering, putting junk away, clearing counters. My cleaning lady comes every two weeks to "deep clean," so I don't want her to spend time straightening up instead of mopping the floors, scrubbing the baths, etc.
