Re: Do you cook every night?

I plan our meals for the week on Sundays and do most of the cooking and prep work. I also prep my lunches? Usually during the week when I get home from work all I gotta do is heat something up. It makes it a lot easier for me with homework and showers etc.
Friday's is always takeout and on the weekends if we're out and about we usually grab lunches out.

Before my DD, I used to cook EVERY SINGLE MEAL. breakfast, lunch, dinner 7 days a week. exhausting. healthier but exhausting. Then we started to do lunches out on the weekend. Once DD came we have been doing 1 dinner take out and 2 lunches on the weekend out. I still make dinner 6 nights a week, plus 5 lunches a week and all breakfasts. Luckily DH helps with breakfast because usually between us and DD I am making 2 lunches and 2 dinners for all of us. It's alot.

I couldn't imagine having to cook breakfast every day, too Chat Icon God Bless you. 2x/week is enough for me. The rest of the week they get either cereal or a toasted waffle or an egg cup out of the freezer. Chat Icon

We have zero set schedule - but do eat out fairly frequently. Usually every Fri and/or Sat we eat out. Sunday I don't mind cooking usually, but that depends on what we area doing during the day. During the week - if I go to the gym after work, I'll make something quick. If I am going home right from work, I might actually "cook" something. But, then there are nights that I meet up with a friend after work, so DH is on his own. We are really all over the place

This is us too.

I think it's that I get so bored eating at home, sitting at home, I don't know, it gets depressing in the winter and I need to get out or at least have a yummy pizza to look forward to rather than chicken and veges
LOL

I have the opposite issue. I was recently pregnant and I pretty much went on strike altogether. We were eating out so much that I'm actually sick of eating out. It wasn't like we were going to nice restaurants all the time so I got sick of the usual pizza, mexican, chinese, greek, thai, etc. It got old to me so now I'm happy to cook again. Plus I will never lose the baby weight eating out all the time!

Re: Do you cook every night?

I usually cook about 5 days a week since I like to have leftovers for lunch for dh to take to work and for me and the kids. Plus I like to eat organic and am trying to lose a few lbs so I like to know exactly what I'm eating.

We usually eat out one day over the weekend and one day during the week.

I will admit it's a lot lot of work to shop, cook and clean up after cooking!

Re: Do you cook every night?

I like to cook but it's hard with work schedules and my son's sports and activities.

I probably cook 3 or 4 nights a week, and we probably go out and/or get take out once a week (maybe twice during social times of year, like holidays). And we have leftovers the other nights or something quickly assembled (salads, sandwich, omelets).

But we are a family of 3 (and sometimes my son just eats his own thing), so our leftovers are plentiful.

Some weeks I cook most nights (like this week) and some hardly any. It depends on the week, but I'd say I average 5 nights a week. We never eat leftovers (DH and DD eat them for lunch the next day).

Re: Do you cook every night?

I cook 5/7 nights, and the other nights we either grill or eat leftovers. Eating out with 2 kids every weekend just gets too expensive, and living in FL now my DH likes to grill as much as possible so that's what we usually do on the weekends.

I cook about 3-4 times a week. I also order from Home Chef for 2 of those meals. I needed to get new menus into the rotation lol
