Do you ever
just want to take a month off from trying?
sometimes i think it would be nice to go a month not having the stress of wondering if it is THIS MONTH...and then it NOT being.
If you have taken a break, when you came back, did you feel more confident and ready?

Re: Do you ever
My dear old friend "TBAF" is paying a visit this month. I had a feeling I was out, cuz, honestly last month with my back and me not feeling well, we really didnt "try" hard enough. Also with my mom and my sister both being in the hospital, it did add a lot of stress. I guess I was hoping for a "miracle" this month. Sorry, im going off topic. Yes, I am the same way..Im always wondering "is this it"?.. They say dont stress or think about it, and yes its hard! I do think sometimes, a month off is good in a way! Sometimes I feel TTC takes the "fun" away cuz your constantly worried. Jen, Im sorry im rambling on, but these are my thoughts. To You!!!!

Re: Do you ever
I really enjoyed the month off that I took. A couple of months after that I took a month off from temping (charting), even THAT was such a nice nice nice break. Its also the month I got PG.

Re: Do you ever
I have taken a couple months off- or at least, there were things that came up during the times when I knew I was o'ing. Once I was sick and the other, I had a tooth out (and that is high on my list of things that will kill one's libido! ).
But I have to say, we've been trying but not TRYING, if that makes sense. We've been sort of chilled out about it (though I have had moments of disappointment/frustration). I just starting charting this month, so now I am moving to the point where I am thinking about it more and gettin antsy...
Don't know if that really answers your question, I know I sort of went off on a tangent...

it does...since although we are trying...not hardcore trying just yet...
but the disappointment every month is still there...

Re: Do you ever
I also got preggo on an off kinda month. I think your best bet is to not spend the $ on the tests only for dissappointment. It happens when you least expect it. I only tested bc I had severe cramping and a dream of my dad who passed giving me baby gifts. I was in shock to see "Pregnant" Good Luck to you!

Re: Do you ever
I feel like I can't...
1. I'm 35
2. My cycles are completely annovulatory w/o meds... they can last over 80 days... so it's more like three months for me.
3. It took my mom five years to conceive me (age 24-29) and like I said I'm now 35.
4. I only have one biologically-related female relative and she had to adopt. All other females, one cousin is adopted, married into the family. I found out today that every one of my aunts female relatives had a very hard time having kids... or just couldn't.
I feel like I'm the "Lil' Engine that Could" and I have to keep chugging up the hill chanting... "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can..."
My Dad's been through so much in life and I really want him to see a grandchild. I doubt my brother will ever get married and have kids.

Re: Do you ever
Not yet but maybe soon if I get frustrated. This is my first month of temping and I just starting seeing and RE, but I can see myself giving up a month or two if I don't get my BFP this year.

Re: Do you ever
I often want to, but then I feel like I'm "wasting" a cycle.
There are months when I won't chart, like Kathy said, which feel like huge breaks to me!!

Re: Do you ever
In the 2 years that we have been actively ttc I have taken 4 months off here and there, I think it completely necessary to keep your mental clarity....
If I hadn't I think I would have gone bananas by now, don't get me wrong ttc has consumed a lot of my life, but taking breaks brings me back to the real world and my life.

Re: Do you ever
I had been looking forward to taking a month off after the chemical PG and at the last minute changed my mind. Only because of my age and I did not want to lose the window of opportunity on the 2nd try after having the HSG done.

Re: Do you ever
YES! I just posted this on the IF board. When I was getting REALLY stressed out, everyone told me to take a break, and I cringed at the thought of it. I thought I couldnt bear to waste any time and I would be so upset at waiting and doing nothing.
Well after surgery I just had and a cyst we were on a 10 week forced break. It was WONDERFUL. I was sooo much less stressed and now that we are back to trying, I feel so much more hopeful, and calm and much less crazied.
Its hard to do , but I think it helps.

Re: Do you ever
thanks everyone
Against my DH's opinion....i think i am going to take a month off...
We haven't been TTC "hardcore" by any means...but like i said...i still feel a sting of disappointment every month thus far...
So i think i am going to take a month off.... Read some GREAT magazines and book that a WONDERFUL, SUPPORTIVE friend lent me...
And hopefully will start again more relaxed and much more informed!
