do you ever...
for a split second, *think* you see your loved one on the street or passing by in a car or passing by you in the grocery store or wherever?
do you ever have to do a double take and just for a second you think "what if"
i know he is gone but there is a part of me that can sometimes be fooled into thinking it was all a bad dream.

YES!
Well, I know I am not seeing mom but I know the feeling exactly.
At my 6 week post partum checkup after the twins, a nurse called me in from the waiting room and she had many similarities to my mom. She was new there and I couldnt stop staring at her. Overall didn't look like her, but had a lot of the same "little" things, like the way her hair fell and the veins/wrinkles on her hands. I had a lump in my throat the whole time.

This JUST happened to me over the weekend.
We used to run into my great-uncle all over town (he passed the day after Christmas in 2009 of glioblastoma)- the post office, the gym, etc. We were driving past a gas station and for a split second I thought it was him until I remembered.

It used to happen to me all the time after my brother passed away. As a matter of fact, a few days after he died I was heading back to my dads house (where my brother passed away) and my dads neighbor was in front of his house. I slammed on the brakes so hard my head almost hit the steering wheel. I thought this man was my brother. There were other times but now its more that I see someone who maybe has the same hair as him or nose and I cant help staring.
My mother had a break down in Home Depot a few weeks after my brother died. She told me that she thought she saw him and collapsed sobbing on the ground. My heart broke for her.

Hi there, Speaking of death prediction, I find it really odd that one of the on-line death prediction services showed me the same death date that I was foretold in my dream about a year ago. - I can’t explain this coincidence in any other way except that there must be some kind of magic involved here.

i dont see my mother in law or my daughter, but i feel them with me all the time.
In times im mostly alone at home or when im rocking my son to sleep.. i know they are with me... i just wish they were still here

This has happened to me several times. I'll see a guy somewhere that looks just like my dad, and I have to do a double take. It definitely startles me every time! My heart beats faster for a few seconds, and then I feel sad.

Last weekend we stopped at a rest station on the Jersey Turnpike and when we came out I saw a woman who looked so much like my Mom I actually stopped. I could only see her from the side and back because of the way she was turned.. I didn't want to stare so I just shook my head and started to walk toward the car. My littlest grabs my hand and goes "That looks like Uma, doesn't it?" I was grateful for the confirmation. We got in the car (we were first row - right in front of the area where she was walking the dog. I told my friend Elaine (who was driving) - but when she looked, the woman was gone. Soooo weird. And only 2 days before my Mom's birthday!
