Do you ever change the water at work

Are you able to switch the water in the water cooler? I tried twice before and it was awful. I did not even attempt to do it today due to my sciatica. But it needs to be replaced. I know these guys hate being asked and usually call maintance.Chat Icon

Re: Do you ever change the water at work

the men do it around here for us, they don;t mind. They know it weighs a ton. Maintenence always tells us to call them but I hate to ask them to come up here for just that and since the guys don't mind I never call them

I never had to do it because the guys around here do it. Actually, I thinks it's mainly one guy.

I have had to make calls for the maintence guys to lift binders. I could have carried them, but it would have made the guys mad. So they call the 60 year old guy to move them. I want to say it was maybe 8 binders.

I could see how it is definitely a guy's job or a weight lifting women's.

I do! With my secretary- there are only 2 of us here, so if we don't do it- it doesn't get done.

Chat Icon really? I do things all day long that could injure me. It is a small office & msotly women, so we change the water cooler, push garbage carts around, lift heavy boxes, climb on things to reach top shelves, & windows. . .

OMG stop the press - here is the first thing we dont have in common! Chat Icon

Yeah they like to make the mailroom men do this sort of work just incase since its not in our job description. Now what would happen if I lifted something and pulled my back out? The insurance co would be like why were your lifting a box in the first place?
