I do drink often at home alone BUT DH has been working so late that I usually get started with a couple glasses of wine. He gets home and then we will drink together. I have never had drinks by myself for hours at a time, however.

I am then white trash too, before I was PG anyway
there is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with it, DH rarely drinks, so most of the time if I have a drink, it's by myself, but I don't get drunk, 1 or 2 isn't a problem

I get home about 3-4 hours before DH does. Sometimes, when I put DD to bed, I relax with a glass of wine.

White trash ... come on????? Your friend needs to lighten up and learn to relax. There is NOTHING wrong with relaxing with a glass or two of wine or a few beers. No offense, but ... Where was your friend raised ... a monestary????? Enjoy your wine or beer and don't feel one bit bad about having it!!!

 I laugh b/c I think the statement your friend made is quite ignorant.
Occassionally, I'll have a glass of wine or whatever if noone is home. I mean, in all honesty, why not?? Why does someone have to be there if you are in the mood for a beverage? I sure wouldnt call it white trash though.

Me too - Their are sometimes I sit at work and say to myself, I can't wait to get home and sit back and have a glass of wine. When I get home from a hard day at work I sometimes don't even want dinner, I just want a glass of wine while sitting on my couch watching tv under a blanket. And I am not talking about finishing the bottle and everyday, just a glass or 2 to relax you.

I enjoy kicking back and sipping my glass of wine, mixed drink, margarita or champagne!
I CAN'T WAIT for the warmer weather when I can sit outdoors with my glass in hand.
