do you ever feel bad?
so the other day a little girl that lives in our building came over b/c she wanted to meet pokey and maggie
Pokey- could care less- (she actually asked why he looked so angry? it was so cute)
Maggie on the other hand was in love...she loves kids
she loves being outside
I feel like I am robbing her of such a fun life- since I can't offer her either of those things right now

My dog is very social. He loves people and other dogs. I don't feel bad that we don't have kids or another dog for him to play with. We give him enough love and I'm sure you do the same. Trust me they aren't thinking those things

Re: do you ever feel bad?
Yes. I feel bad for my little sushi girl who used to love being tethered and allowed to roam on her lead. Unfortunately we moved somewhere where there is no courtyard anymore. the only place I could put her is out front of our building but she is terrified of cars. We have the balcony but I am terrified a bird will go flying by and she will jump off to try and catch it

I feel guilty that my dog is an only dog. He just adores playing with other dogs so much. He craves it when he sees them. I set up playdates for him but I know it isn't ever enough for him.

I feel badly that I can't let them out to play all of the time. they love the outdoors.
But I'm afraid they will disappear.

Re: do you ever feel bad?
I have two cats that I treated like my children for the first 8 years of my life. Since having my daughter in June, I just dont have the time to give them the love and attention that they used to get. I can tell that they miss the attention and I feel horrible about it.

Re: do you ever feel bad?
Don't feel bad -- your giving your cats a healthy, happy life. Just because they have limits doesn't mean they aren't lucky and spoiled rotten.
You've seen how my Mickey is -- he would love it if we had 10 people over to visit him every day... but he's happy and well-adjusted with just us and the occasional visitor!
Don't fret too much -- I'm sure your cats are luckier and happier than most!

I have the same guilt. The only difference is it rains so much here (esp now) and I dont let them out in the rain.

I felt bad about that for the two years that we only had our dog, Irwin. So when the chance arose to rescue our other dog, Lucy, we jumped at it thinking that Irwin would love a playmate. And for the most part he does, but Lucy is a much more dominant dog and she kinda picks on Irwin and it breaks my heart. Not that Irwin ever gets hurt or lets her push him around *too* much but we can't play together like we used to because Lucy jumps in on it and it gets out of hand since she's a nut. I try to take them to the side and play with them each separately but I always feel bad like the other thinks I'm ignoring him/her.

I felt that way too. That's why I got him a sister dog. Best thing I ever did.
