Do you ever feel guilty?

This is a question for those that have 2+ children.

Ryan requires SOOOO much attention from us, I feel like Erin can be left out sometimes.

Ryan is a lot to handle at times, so a lot of our attention is focused on him.... disciplining him seems to be what takes up most of our days lately , and I feel guilty that we don't spend enough time with Erin.

She is such a bright, independent, tough little girl, and luckily can hold her own against her big brother.. but she goes to bed earlier than Ry, and he doesn't nap, so we don't get alone time to really focus on her. And if I am in her room playing with her toys with her, Ryan will come busting in the room like a tornado and start to throw things, push her to get attention, and play rough... again shifting my attention back on him.

Sometimes I just get sad and think that I am not doing the right thing for her. EVen with DH home, handling Ryan lately seems to be a joint effort because is exhausting at times.

First off hugs to you because I am going through the same thing with 3 others. Sometimes I feel like I'm rushing trying to do h/w or feed the baby just so the extra attention can go my son. It's hard but my older kids understand that their brother has special needs and they are wonderful helpers. Still I feel guilty at times.

Yes, I was just talking about this today.

Poor Brody is only 3 1/2 months old, and he get barely any attention. Ava requires all of my attention at all times.

I try to steal a few private minutes with him here and there. I try to keep him awake when she is at pre-school, but sometimes he has other plans..

oh yes, because Christopher has a twin brother, and he gets jealous when the therapists are there to work with his brother, but they have been great and incorporate Matthew into some of the sessions.

I do feel guilty a lot. I'm glad my two older girls (8 and 5) have each other b/c my ds does take up so much time. They are actually learning how to be a big help and love helping him with his things. We do try and do special things with just the girls...like my dh just took them to go see a movie.
