Do you ever feel guilty
for feeling tired? Like, since I dont have kids, I shouldnt feel tired? Whenever I get really tired, I think about my friends who have kids - if I'm tired, imagine how they must feel? Not that anyone is saying this to me, its all in my head, but I can't help but feel guilty if I lie down and take a nap sometimes. Does anyone else ever feel this way?

I do feel tired at times, and I don't feel guilty about it.
I cook, clean, shop, do laundry, work full time, commute, take care of my dad's and FIL's finances, medical & insurance stuff, as well as taking care of our finances.
This weekend I took FIL shopping for new shoes. I think the 3 year old in the store was better behaved.
If we had children, we would still do the same stuff.

Nope Never feel guilty. Your life is busy too! Why feel bad about being tired? Take a nap and enjoy it

I don't feel guilty...i just think "thank god i don't have to take care of a child cause i am not in the mood being this tired...haha!!!" I am tired alot...

Thanks everyone! I do lead a full life and have every right to be tired. Its just that when I think about my friends who also lead full lives plus take care of kids on top of it, I cant help but think wow-I have no right to be tired!

No I don't feel guilty.
I do wonder and get nervous when thinking about how and when I will get my sleep when we have children.
I love my sleep and napping and I know once babies come I will have to give up a lot of my sleeptime.

definitely don't feel guilty... i honestly don't know the last time i took a nap but if i did, i wouldn't feel bad for it. one of the reasons i don't have children is bc of my job/lifestyle, i don't know how i would fit them in. i'd feel like i were jipping them the time they deserve... just bc we are childless does not mean our lives are not busy, full or stressful so nap away!

Never. Between work, writing, my dance group/working out and making time to see the people I care about - no guilt for being tired!

Hell no!! Not having kids does not equal not getting exhausted! If I need/want a nap, I take one. Just like I sleep in when I want to, no guilt what-so-ever!!

lol yes is do! DH is constantly telling me to get over it,but I just can't. I always feel guilty, esp for sleeping in on the weekends

Nope. I don't think any one group of people has cornered the market on feeling tired.
I work extremely hard and have many obligations. Just because children aren't on my list of obligations doesn't mean that I am not busy enough to be absolutely wiped out at times.

No guilt. I often wonder though- If I am THIS tired with no kids- how tired would I be if I did have kids.
That thought scares me

Same here. I listen to my sister and friend who are always so exhausted between work and children, and have no idea how I'll ever do it!

No!! I work 60 hour weeks so we can buy a house & fill it with kids one day.
I rather be a stay @ home Mom enjoying my beautiful children then working my paid job any-day!!!

I know as a parent I should not comment...but I am bored and can find nothing better to do but crash your boards.
Anyway do NOT feel guilty. Your life is just as busy as a parents' life, you are just busy doing different things. I was tired before being a parent and I am tired now. Maybe I am just tired. Jeez, I should start taking more vitamins.

Yes. I do. I have Epstein Barr and when it's active, all I wanna do is sleep. I do imagine how it would be once I have a baby or if I have a baby. This scares me.

Actually - I don't feel guilty, per se...just nervous. I am ALWAYS tired. I always worry about when and if DH and I have children where I am going to find the extra energy to take care of them when I already feel like I need a nap already.
