Do you ever feel like things will NEVER get better?
My dh is working VERY parttime, can't find a fulltime job. He just got 2 tickets today, which we can't afford and one will give him points on his license. We have been going through a VERY long 8 months and everyday seems to look worse and worse in the job situation and our finances. I DO appreciate that I have a job that pays many of the bills but it doesn't cover everything and every week someone needs money for this or that and our savings is just dwindling down. Sorry for the whining but I just needed to vent as I keep thinking, TOMORROW will be a better day, TOMORROW someone will call my dh for a job, but to no avail, tomorrow comes and it is still the same story.

Re: Do you ever feel like things will NEVER get better?
I know exactly how you feel. Lost my job three weeks before our wedding in August and I'm still looking. Sometimes I get sooo discouraged and just cry. DH has a good job and we can pay bills..and he reminds me of that whenever I get upset.
There are people worse off than us. Be thankful for what we do have..one job, a husband!, a home, love.
I'm hopeful that 2009 will bring new, exciting opportinities.

Re: Do you ever feel like things will NEVER get better?
I have felt that way in the past. desperation and hopelessness are the words that come to mind. Wondering where the money for the next meal was coming from. I understand.
It feels like a lifetime ago now. And you know what the positivity and lessons that came from my experience were PRICELESS. I know now I can get through anything - ramen noodles and cashing in coins the whole way....
I read up on the power of attraction and the role the negativity played in my life at the time. It sounds corny - but it worked ....... and still works now. Sometimes it is hard not to feel bad - I know but if you have a core of positive thinking I think you can achecvie everything and MORE than you ever dreamed. hang in there

ITA with you and when I get down, I think of all the people who can't pay their mortgage or don't have food to eat as we are able to have that.

Thanks so much. I am trying REALLY hard to be positive because I KNOW it works and has in the past and I keep telling myself I WILL win the lotto-lol!! but that negativity creeps in every once in awhile and it stinks!!

Re: Do you ever feel like things will NEVER get better?
You know I know how you feel!!! Even though I am FINALLY working, we still can't catch up and can't afford our everyday finances forget about monthly bills. I thought things were getting better when I got a job, but it's actually getting worse. With both of us out of work on and off the last 1.5-2yrs and having to live off of credit cards, we owe so much more and can't even afford the minimum payments. I'm trying to "fix" things, but it doesn't seem like it's going to happen. One day I can be optimistic, and another day I'm very depressed about it. I try, but you're definitely right... IT'S HARD!!! Here are some I hope and pray things get better for you as well! All I can say is that I am tired about worrying about money. It's making DH and I fight a lot lately. It's just becoming overwhelming at this point. He wants to claim bankruptcy and I know it will just make things worse for us. I can't win!

And hugs to you. I know it will get better for the both of us. It is really hard and I am trying not to let it affect our relationship but it is hard. We have been through so much the past 20 years and it got better at one time and we were doing great and then things went downhill (even though some of it really HAD to to make things better).

I agree. We went through a period where one or both of us was unemployed, caring for a newborn and/or in school. It was tough but I was thankful that we had a roof over our head, food on the table and basic necessities. There were times where we ate pasta all week for dinner bc it was cheap. You do what you have to do to get by. When it came to our bills we were robbing peter to pay paul. During all of this, we had our moments of "why us? When will it get better?" but I knew it could be worse. There were other people in much dire situations that us. Eventually it did get better.
Have faith that things will get better. Try to stay positive about the future. The current situation is a bump in the road. One day you'll look back at this blip in your past and say you got through it.

Re: Do you ever feel like things will NEVER get better?
I feel the exact same way right now. My DH was laid off about a month ago. He found a new job, but the money isn't the same as he was making before. He had to take it because it's better than nothing. I only work part-time. I'm not sure how we'll survive on less than we had before with another baby on the way. I'm in panic mode all the time because I just don't know how we'll pay the bills. DH is still looking for a better paying job, but I'm losing faith that he'll find something. Plus, since DH lost his job, a few other horrible things have happened that have just made the whole situation harder. Everyday it just feels like things are getting worse & worse everyday. I'm scared constantly because I don't know what we're going to do
I hope things start to turn around for you soon

Re: Do you ever feel like things will NEVER get better?
I am on the same boat too. DH was laid off in August and has not found anything since. He goes on interviews then doesnt hear back. So frustrating. . I hate when everything just goes down the tubes at once. i am just afraid that the economy will never get better.
for everyone in the same situation.
