Do you ever feel like you lost something you never had....
I guess this is not so much about parenting, but I love you girls so much- I figured I would post here.
So I just got off the phone with my sister. We are going to be sharing a nanny. She is moving out of her studio into a 2 bedroom in her building. Her BIL is taking over the studio. She said "I wish you lived in our building".
Once I figured out how much she paid, we could totally swing that. DH LOVES the building and it is in such a great neighborhood. We JUST signed a new lease, but could sublet for what the new rent would be (since we want to dump almost all our furniture anyway). And we wouldn't have to worry about the nanny transporting 30 blocks between the 2 kids.
But she already promised it to her BIL and I would never want to come in between that. It just never occurred to her that we would be interested because we are in a 1 br and she is in a studio. If we were to get another studio- we would have to pay a brokers fee which we can't afford.
SO I feel bad, like I lost something- even though I never had it.
Does that make any sense?

I can completely understand how you feel. Has you sister thought about talking to her BIL? Maybe the BIL can take over your apartment?

yes... I had a dream house that Ii literally dreamt about--then found it and lost it-It was 250 years old and I will never find something like it again. It took years to get over it. Everything happens for a reason--same old dumb line I know....but...i found a house with a apt that pays my mortage and then some...see?

BIL would not be interested in my apartment. Mine is a pre-war and he likes new buildings. Also, my neighborhood is very family oriented and he likes to be more in the center of everything.
