Do you ever get nervous driving?
I'm 34 weeks and I was driving to work this morning and my little one did something in there and I saw stars. I could've gotten into an accident. It made me think is it safe to drive to and from work as I get closer to my due date?

Re: Do you ever get nervous driving?
My commute is an hour each way.
I'm seeing my Dr. today and I'm going to ask him if he would be willing to give me a note that says starting on 11/13 (two weeks before my due date) that he does NOT want me commuting. Therefore, I am either out from work or they let me work from home. Since they are letting me work from home two days a week after the baby is born I am hoping they will let me do that entirely for those two weeks- one of those weeks is thanksgiving anyway.....we'll see.
I'm just so tired and not sleeping well and its only going to get worse- I think the biggest danger for me with driving is the fatigue.

Re: Do you ever get nervous driving?
you know, my dept head (who has kids) asked me the other day 'so have they told you to stop driving yet'? I'm like WHAT? but then it makes sense, esp after what you described.
Once I start getting sharp pains like you had - I think I will have to reconsider my last work day also (if it hasn't come already!).

Re: Do you ever get nervous driving?
All the preggos in my office never stop commuting (there are 8 of us believe it or not!!) It's just the sudden pain that makes me nervous. I don't want to accidentally swerve or something. I'm thinking of doing my last week at home.

Re: Do you ever get nervous driving?
I do get a little nervous sometimes, but nothing major. I don't have a long work commute and I actually enjoy driving.

Re: Do you ever get nervous driving?
My mom couldn't drive towards the of her pregnancies with me and my sister. She couldn't reach the peddles! She had to have a family friend who worked in the same school drive her to work.
I commute on an x bus, which sucks in its own right.

Re: Do you ever get nervous driving?
I take public transportation since I live in Queens and work in the city. I USED to drive on the weekends, but now nobody will let me
DH and the rest of my family is so nervous that something will happen while I drive. So, they won't let me drive to the train station. It would be SOOOO much easier. But, they keep saying that at least if anything happens while I am on the bus, there are other people around to help.
My response: these people don't even offer me a seat, you expect them to help me if I need it

Re: Do you ever get nervous driving?
I don't drive that much, but sometimes it does make me nervous. The whole airbag thing worries me a ilttle bit. Plus I'm getting so much more uncomfortable.

This is a good idea- and I may do something similar. I drive an hour each way, and I'm already nervous, mostly because of the way people drive. Plus I leave at 5:45, and it's so dark then. I hate it.
Jodi- I hope you are able to do some work from home!
