Do you ever have days were you feel defeated?
I have no idea what went on today but both kids were so cranky and for the first time I felt like I didn't have patients for them and I feel terrible. I mean DD was just crying on and off and DS was screaming and whining. Then I was thinking of what Janice wrote about how Josh never throws tantrums so I feel like I am doing something wrong and I know that is wrong for me to compare but I still did.
Both of them are now in bed and DS is talking like always and I just feel bad like I am punishing him, when in reality he does this every night regardless of what time he goes to sleep.
So I guess it is a vent to....thanks for listening.

Lately I feel this way a lot.
Jack is getting to be even more of a handful than usual and trying to get them out of the house is disasterous.
I can't remember the last peaceful day I've had........
But tomorrow will hopefully be a better day

Re: Do you ever have days were you feel defeated?
You are so not alone!!! I have one and I go insane most days!! I cant imagine having the patience for 2 on bad days. God bless you all!
I think that its hard when we see things on here sometimes not to compare. I do it all the time. Sometimes it makes me feel better and sometimes it makes me feel worse. I guess its just the pros and cons of being part of a community like this as a parent. It's so normal.
I also think that all of our kids are different. I can honestly say that Megan isnt a tantrum thrower BUT she is constantly moving. She NEVER sits still, EVER. It is the most trying part of her personality. Some nights I go to bed feeling defeated but I ALWAYS hold good thoughts that tomorrow will be better, and it usually is. Dont feel bad, its all a part of being a good parent.

I agree...it's not so much the tantrums because they are few and far between but it is the WHINING..and now he goes WAAAA, WAAA like a baby. I am going to assume it is his way seeking attention but then again they are almost 15 months apart so I don't know what's "normal" almost 3 year old behavior. In school his teacher said he is so good in class but they know his temper because they have seen it on occassion. The kids are calm for DH when it is the 3 of them, come to think of it, they are fine when I am not around

Yes, those are the days when I break out the special DVD's....
You know what, some kids throw tantrums, some kids don't....you aren't doing anything wrong, all kids are different.

Re: Do you ever have days were you feel defeated?
Oh yes! And I also only have 1.
My sister's daughter is never defiant. Jordana, always is. Kids are different. Like adults, they each have different strengths and different weaknesses. While Jordana's strong personality makes for tough toddler/preschooler times, I know they will serve her well in life.
to you. It was a bad day. But now its over.

Re: Do you ever have days were you feel defeated?
OMG! my heart sank reading this!
you are doing fantastic!!
All kids are different. I know mine has to stay completely busy or my day is downhill quickly.
He was sent to his room monday for biting the babysitting kid!
Mine has a very carefree attitude....so much so that I can stand at fridge for ever saying juice or milk...making him say one. NEver says one...walks away thirsty and moves to next thing.
I think you are great. Imagine just your first kid and not having your second around? its apples and oranges. When I do have another this kid is going to go into shock!
