Do you ever look at your DD's wardrobe and think...

she has WAAAAYYYY too much?Chat Icon

Holy cow!! I thought I scaled it back about a month ago...tried returning things...but I'm still looking at it and thinking, WHY CAN'T I STOP MYSELF?

I know...there was a similar thread the other day about this.

How DO you scale it back? Does it ever get easier? When do you realize what they REALLY need and what they DON'T need and shop accordingly?

The funny thing is, I don't dress her like a cute girly girl either. She's always just very casual and sporty. I just like her having a variety of things to wear.Chat Icon

Yes!

As she's getting older it's almost getting worse because there's more to choose from it seems than the typical baby wardrobe. It is definitely a sickness Chat Icon

We figured out that DD already has over 100 outfits, and we have not bought a single one! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

yes. it's a problem. i buy ahead and always on sale, but then wind up with miss matched things and then buy even more...

i think i need to set a budget per season, but i don't know what that number should be...

Re: Do you ever look at your DD's wardrobe and think...

I am totally thinking this now as we are packing and moving into my parents' house. I just emptied Sabrina's closet into boxes and realized that she already has a full closet of stuff at my parents' house (they watch her). I know in another month I will be packing away the summer stuff, but WOW do I have a lot!!!!!

I think our big problem is that since my parents watch her, my mom always likes to keep clothes at her house. Having clothes in two places means you are never really aware of how much you have. I am hoping that now that we are moving in with Mom and Dad, I will be more aware of what is actually needed and slow down a bit.

Re: Do you ever look at your DD's wardrobe and think...

i fight it. after packing so many things away from josh, 0-3 mos with tags...i can't stomach it.

i like closets that flow. i don't like stuffed drawers.
so many things that jessie received, i went to the store and exchanged for bigger sizes.

It's definitely a sickness, I have it too, and my wardrobe DEFINITELY suffers as well...yet I don't that much for some reason. It's SO much more fun dressing her.

I figure when she is able to choose her clothes, I won't be able to do this...so might as well enjoy it and pray that I have a girl when we have #2 Chat Icon Chat Icon

I live vicariously through all of Emerson's clothes so I tend to go crazy buying her cutesy, girly everything. Chat Icon Chat Icon I can't stop myself. I've gotten a little better over time but she still always has more clothes than one little person needs.

I am ashamed of the amount of clothes DD has. I also have a DS..and the amount of clothes he has is just as bad..if not worse.

I truly think it is a sickness.

What size is your DD? We can save ourselves a lot of money by swapping clothes since we dress them exactly the sameChat Icon

Re: Do you ever look at your DD's wardrobe and think...

I just promised DH that I would not be buying them anything!
It is insane how many clothes they have. I went through their clothes and there were a lot of new outfits neither one had even gotten to wear bc it got lost in the mix.
