Like, I have a hard time using the stupid book that tells you how many points things are when I don't know exactly what's in it. I made homemade chicken soup and it says one cup is three points. Now, I made it from scratch and skimmed as much of the fat off as I could, but three points doesn't seem like it's enough for a cup of that. So in my head, I am thinking, ok, more like 5 points. I don't know, I just always assume things are more points than that book says they are.

I would think that 3 pts for a cup is about right.
It is 2 pts for a cup of progresso chicken noodle soup, which is pretty hearty.

Do you have the online WW tools? I find it to be MUCH better than the book. It gives you sooooo many more options.

I completely agree with you. 9 times out of 10 I always figure the pts out by using the calculator or pts slide.

If I make something using a recipe I either put it through the recipe builder on WW online or calorieking.com.

When in doubt, I go with the higher point guess.

I eat all of my flex points, so it's not like I am ever in danger of not eating enough points for the day. Chat Icon

Also, it gets easier to guesstimate the longer you do it - as long as you keep your portions under control.
