Do you ever wear different size pants from the same store?

I just went to BR and bough a pair of pants in size 2P that fit me beautifully! I also bought a pair of jeans in size 4P that fit me really well! No way would I have been able to fit into 2P jeans and 4P pants are way too big on me.... If anything I would suppose it would have been the other way around-jeans should have been smaller because they fit tighter but no....

I am so confused... What is going on with the sizes? It is enough to try to adjust to a completely different body after 2 kids but now I actually don't even know what size I am suppose to grab off the shelves...

Vanity sizing at it's best.

I can't even shop at Banana Republic anymore because of it. I have to order ONLINE which is such a PITA. I always was a 2 Regular and now I'm a 00 Short.

Definitely true especially at the gap, old navy and banana---that group of stores really has trouble with this! I have things from size 4 to size 8 that all fit me from old navy!

they are so messed up there

I ordered some pants on line this summer

first I ordered a 6- Huge

then a 4 Huge

then a 2 fit perfect

so I decided to order another color

the 2 didn't even come close to fitting

so I gave up

banana- 4 sometimes on my skinny days a 2

h&m - 6 or 8 and sometimes a 10

its so weird

my "true" size is a 4

yepp....... By far the worst I've found is Old Navy. I have 3 pairs of jeans- same cut, same style- different colors & alll different sizes

I have had this happen in Ann Taylor. I once tried on EVERY skirt they had in the same size and some fit and some didn't.

I have heard that a lot depends on how the fabric was cut. Sometimes cut a little inside the line, sometimes out.

Now that you bring this up:

I wonder if I've gone down a size due to losing a few lbs, or if it's just all vanity sizing. I was sooo excited to be an 8, but maybe it's not actually true.

I find express jeans are like that. My sizes range from 4-8 depending on the cut of the jean.

I was at the Gap tonight trying on jeans. I tried on 3 pairs of one size and one pair in another. They were ALL different but in completely different ways (ie, the waist was big on one pair, the butt was baggy on another, the butt was too tight on the largest size)
