I was astonished at some of the suits I saw some people wearing this weekend. Forget whether or not you have the body, would you wear a brazillian cut string bikini lugging a bunch of kids around? What if you were over a certain age? Discuss...

I say flaunt it if you got it...keeping it tasteful in a family environment.
I don't have it, so I wear a modest tankini, but if I could pull it off I'd be in a bikini.

A brazillion cut bikini around children..... I personally think it's inappropriate whether you have the body for it or not.

If I had the body I would still wear my 2 piece...I don't see anything wrong with it. I never wore skimpy bikini's to begin with.

Hmmm, I guess it all depends on the environment. I am all for bikini's if you have the body and are comfy in it... I don't care if your a mom or not.... But letting your azz cheeks hang out in a thong bikini or seeing too much of other areas can be a little disturbing to me ( I don't want my kids seeing that!)

It wouldn't bother me. My bathingsuit this season is a string triangle top and the bottom isn't string but it does have buckles on the side. I think I look ok in it and I am not ready to be in a one piece at 26.

Same here!! My sister is a mom if 2 and she has an awesome body and models for Playboy! I don't think there is anything wrong in wearing a bikini or showing some cleavage when you have kids, your life didn't end for Gods sake--lol

Ive always worn a bikini...Im most comfortable in a two piece. This year will be no different..although it is taking me a lot longer getting back into shape this time around...more due to lack of motivation more than anything else. Im finally feeling motivated and it's already summer...oh well there's always next year..

agreed. it doesn't matter if you are a mom or not...just wear the right bikini at the right times....or you will look trashy instantly, not sexy.

Wanted to add- I want to play with Cailen when swimming or At the beach. I wore a bikini This past weekend and it was a little flimsy. Cailen kept pulling At it and when I swam laps it didn't stay put. I'm all for looking good but my priority is having fun with my boo!

Agreed. Also, If the suit is so "not there" that you either have to sit really still or risk showing lip or nip if you have to get up quickly to chase after your child, then it is too skimpy.
A woman with a nice body in a nicely cut bikini at the beach with beautiful kids who are having fun--now there is a mom for me to envy and I would tell her so!!!!! This year, I guess I have to go for the image of the woman in the semi-bikini who once upon a time could turn heads but is now enjoying her child.

you know...I went bathing suit shopping today. I'm in pretty good shape and most people would probably say I should wear a bikini, but something in the back of my head just thinks these tiny bikinis are not appropriate anymore. I am only 28 but it just doesn't feel right to have my boobs and butt hanging out all over the place anymore.

I think there is a HUGE difference between a string brazillion cut bikini and a regular bikini, which is what the OP is talking about. I don't think a regular binkini is inappropriate in the least.

I don't like the thongs, but a bikini. Hell yeah if you have the body. Just because you become a mom doesn't mean you cant look good. You have your whole otber half of your life to dress matronly. And believe me, it comes up very quickly

Totally agree. In my case 'tasteful' for families involves full coverage from every angle from ankles to chin.
Also - I think it is an AGE thing over a 'mom' thing. I PERSONALLY think that most 45 year olds would look silly in a Brazillian bikini with a thong riding up their backside. But for the few who can pull it off I say MORE POWER TO YOU SISTER!
