Do you get diagnosed with hyperemesis or is it just excessive vomitting throughout?
My nausea is just unbearable. I feel like I haven't been able to enjoy pregnancy as much because I've felt so sick for so long.
I'm almost at my 3rd trimester and am still suffering from extreme nausea and vomitting.
My doctor said some women just are sick throughout but didn't diagnose me with hyperemesis either. I didn't ask though.

I was diagnosed with it esentially my midwives had to come to my house a few times to administer IV fluids to re-hydrate me, if they hadn't done this I would have required hospitalization. I am lucky they travel and do house calls
I think the fact that I had ketones in my urine lost a lot of weight adn the amount of times I was vomiting a day also contributed to the "diagnosis"
At the end of teh day though whether they call it hypermesis or bad morning sickness it really makes no difference..

It is a diagnosis iin my Drs office. There are specific things they look for to make the leap from nausea/traditional morning sickness to hyperemesis. I think in order to write a prescription they need a code/diagnosis, so I am not sure if this is the reason why...

I know I got prescribed zofran in my first trimester. Then my doctor just let me suffer from my morning sickness for the remainder of the 1st and the majority of my 2nd trimester.
At my last appointment (24 wks), she prescribed me two new medications for nausea. Unfortunately these new meds didn't work for me either.
