Do you give baths when DC has a cold or is sick?
I don't know why I'm so afraid to give him a bath, like he'll get sicker if he catches a chill coming out of the bath?
IDK, what do you do?
He's got a very annoying cold, its all in the nose.

Re: Do you give baths when DC has a cold or is sick?
Yes we do. I always feel a bit better after a bath or shower when sick so I figure DD does too.
We make it on the cooler side 90-92 so as not to aggravate a fever.
When she was younger we did the 5 S's
Steam - we sat with her in the bathroom while it got really hot and steamy
Saline - spray or drops depending on her age
Scream - she hated the saline and it helped get her congestion flowing
Soak - in the tub, sometimes with a vaporizing wash
Snuggle - needed after all that and we'd keep her upright so her nose would run.
I highly recommend a vaporizer or humidifier running at night with the vicks pads if you have that kind.

Just did 20 minutes ago. DD is so sick with a cold and cough, but she was filthy and the bath relaxes her. I then put on nice warm pajamas, sprayed saline up her nose and she was ready for bed!

Re: Do you give baths when DC has a cold or is sick?
I give a bath everyday to begin with. But I feel a nice warm bath helps clear things out. I know a hot shower works wonders when I'm sick, so a bath does the same, IMO. I just make sure he's wrapped up in a towel ASAP and keep him as warm as possible.
ETA: DS has had a cold since the last week in August. If I didn't bathe him b/c of a cold, he'd be one dirty baby right now!

Yes. In your case I would give him a hot shower, it will help his nose.

Yes. Sometimes we don't wash his hair though if he's sick, but we will sit him in the hot tub...

Re: Do you give baths when DC has a cold or is sick?
Yes, I especially want to bathe him when he is sick. I just make the water more lukewarm if he has a fever and make sure to dry him off quickly, but I think it's important to get rid of all of the stuck on germs and boogies.

Re: Do you give baths when DC has a cold or is sick?
I don't want my kids sitting around in their own germs an make it harder for them to get better. That's also why I bathed Abby everyday she was in daycare - so germs she picked up there did not fester.
