Thinking about it...we are both out of the house almost 11 hours each day at work/traveling to work, and it can be hard to stay on top of the cleaning. Trying to decide whether it's worth the money, I think the suggestion for every 2 weeks sounds like a good one

Nope, I actually dont think it gets really filthy around here... The cat hair flying around gets to be annoying, but we dont have a shedding dog or a kid so it def could be worse... THEN i would want a cleaning lady lol

I would like one but I have an issue with trusting strangers. I do 99.9% of the cleaning and I'm so sick of it, especially after a long day at work. The last thing I want to do is clean my house during what little free time I have.

No. I have issues with strangers in my house. Also, I'm a bit of a control freak about cleaning, so I need to SEE someone cleaning something to know that it's truly clean.

I never thought of the "having someone in my home" aspect...I am pretty laid back but I don't know if I'd be cool w/that.
Can I just hire someone to do my spare bedroom? I want the wedding crap OUT!

I clean room to room and feel like it's never all clean at the same time and I'd love to have that "whole house is sparkling clean" feeling. So I'd love to have someone come in to do a big heavy cleaning of the whole place. From there, I could easily keep on top of it. It just feels a little overwhelming to get to that point myself right now.
I agree. We can afford it but we live in a small apartment and thought it was silly and would want to be there if someone strange came in... but we really could use someone to come in and do a deep cleaning once in a while. Our place is never as clean as it probably should be.
I am glad we can all admit it! I won't hire somone because I feel like I *should* be able to do it myself. I live in less then 1000 sq. feet & I only have 1 job, no kids, no pets, & am not in school.
I used to better--I am trying to get back to that.

I have one on hand.. and I usually have her come right before we host a dinner party or something like that.. my MIL like to go over things with a fine while glove.. especially since we have a cat.  otherwise its me..

I'll do the majority of the cleaning but once every 3 weeks or so I like to have my cleaning women come in. If I could afford to do it every week I totally would - I am not a fan of cleaning!!

Yes! and it was the best move ever.
DH works 2 jobs, i work in the city and with the commute i am out of the house 12 hrs a day, the LAST thing either of us wants to do is dedicate our free time to cleaning. We came from a TEENY TINY (im talking 800sq feet) apt where it was very managable to keep clean...My house is just too much.

Defin in the minority here, Its just me and DH, and we have always had someone who comes in once a week.
I couldn't imagine having to clean this house on my own, i also hate cleaning

I don't. It is hard sometimes to keep everything clean all at once...especially with our cats. However, my Mom literally loves to clean and she comes over and cleans our house sometimes.
I know that might sound bad, but when I say "No, you don't have to do that" she keeps asking until I say yes. She was also so upset by the disorganization of her cabinets that we were joking (although it was one of those jokes that has tons of "seriousness" sprinkled in it) that she was going to lose sleep thinking about them. The next day she came over and reorganized all of our cabinets lol

Yes, every 4 weeks our cleaning woman comes. I work longer hours than DH but since he refuses to help clean, he agreed to cleaning woman long time ago.

No - we clean ourselves. As is evident by the mold growing on the silicone on my shower doors. I can't effing get rid of it.

Don't have one now.... i had on in my apartment every other week when cause i was working so much. then i stopped it cause I was trying to save $$, i miss it so much... they did such a deeper clean.
Now, we both work alot, but its not the the budget. I actually told DH that when we have kids that we will find a way, cause then i really won't have time to do it!

We definitely do....every 2 weeks she deep cleans and irons and I'm so grateful!
We do laundry, dusting, vacuuming and swiffer in between. Definitely worth it for us.

I don't but I wouldn't be opposed to the idea. Right now, DH and I share the cleaning around the house.
Our laundry gets picked up by the laundry mat, cleaned, folded, and delivered back to us so I think that helps a great deal.
I actually enjoy cleaning sometimes. I blast my music, get into a groove, and next thing you know- house is spotless!

No. We live in a very small apartment so I can't justify spending the extra money especially with DH unemployeed. However, once we have a house & kids I do see the convience of it.

yes... she comes once a week and it's some of the best $ we spend.
dh never helped me clean - ever, anything and it caused a lot of arguments & bickering between us. now "our" money pays her to do it, i'm not resentful of him for spending my day off cleaning (we have a 4 bedroom hi-ranch so it's a decent sized house), esp when he is like a tornado that hits every room. i vacuum in between and if she takes a week off, i'll do the cleaning, plus i still have plenty other things to do normally - laundry, food shopping, errands, walking the dogs etc - and with my commute i am out of the house 11.5 hours a day, 5 days a week, minimum.
