do you have a formal living room?
If so I would love to see pics. I have a formal living room and a seperate den / family room now, but when I moved in I only had the living room so it is kind of casual. I would like to redo it and make it more formal so I am looking for some ideas!

We are doing the living room this year. But this is what it looks like now (ignore the stuff in there!)
We are pulling up the carpet and putting hardwood down. I also want to stain the fireplace to something like a walnut or cherry finish, and replace the white marble with something else. Also, the window treatment is from the previous owner. Furnishing is going to be tricky because it's such a huge room (26x16)

I call it my "semi" formal living room bc it's nicer than my den, but not ultra fancy. These are old pics and it's not 100% done yet, but you'll get the idea!

Ours will be formal in the sense that it is a sitting room and we will not have a TV in it. Nothing really fancy but nice.

Oh thanks! Fabric Mill actually F'ed up and I am waiting for a replacement!  The valance is supposed to be mounted on a pole vs. a board. If they offered me a discount, I would have kept them, but they didn't so I sent it back!
