Do you have a rule follower?
My oldest follows all the rules, to the point where it is sometimes a problem and I worry about her.
Her two younger siblings have no issue whatsoever breaking the rules.
What can I do?

Re: Do you have a rule follower?
Honestly, I think it's a personality thing. To this day, I don't like rules and always try to find a way around them. Someone will say- oh you have to do it this way and for no good reason I'll try to find a way to skirt that rule just because I can. It's like a thing with me.
The best you can do is encourage them to follow important rules- like safety rules, listening at school, doing homework, respecting others, , etc.
For the one that follows the rules to a fault, you can let her know that it's ok to be flexible sometimes and not everything has to be done one way only. But again, I feel like that is just a type A personality trait to be honest.

Do you have a rule follower?
Yes, my oldest. She’s always been this way. I never really thought about it as a problem, she makes my life easier! Always does what she’s supposed to, is great in school, behaves at other’s houses, etc.

Same. I only have one and she's a total rule follower, goody two shoes and I love it.
OP-curious what you mean that it sometimes causes a problem?

Re: Do you have a rule follower?
For example, when she felt sick and the teacher said that no one is allowed to get up/go to the bathroom during a lesson, she just threw up in her seat because she said "but we weren't allowed to get up".
I feel like she sometimes has anxiety over things that kids her age should just not worry about. Like if I say, I'm going to miss my train, she totally panics and worries that I will get in trouble. Had to talk her down and explain there are more trains and that I won't get in trouble (even when I am not "following the rules"/doing what I'm supposed to do). Or that if I do get in trouble, I just don't really care all that much.
It's not so much I guess that I care that she follows the rules (it's great most of the time), I am concerned that she worries too much. She is 6 years old and I feel like a kid that young should break a rule or two or at least not worry when she does.

Do you have a rule follower?
Awwwww. I totally get it now. DD is a lot like that too. She gets very bad allergies and panicked one morning because they're not supposed to get up too many times in the classroom to get tissues. I told her a few times to get as many tissues as she needs. So, my advice is (what I do) is tackle every situation as it comes. She has gotten way better, so maybe your DD will outgrow it a bit. But, like Nell said, I think it's just a personality trait.

Do you have a rule follower?
Both of my kids are rule followers. My younger DS has no patience for those who don't follow the rules (which is a huge problem in gym class as many break the rules there).

She sounds just like my kid. She will be ok. This is just who they are. I try to reassure her that no one is perfect, its ok to make mistakes, some rules are ok to break if it concerns her safety or wellbeing. I was exactly the same way as a kid and just like your daughter, threw up at my desk when my teacher told me no one could go to the bathroom or leave the room at the time. I was mortified. Message me if you ever want to talk.
