Just a fire-proof safe. Not a wall-mounted safe. It's safe from fire, but if anybody wants it, they only weigh 15 or 20 pounds each. Most office supply stores have the fire-proof safes. Home Depot, too.

ditto for us. we have a firesafe one that has all of our important docs...birth certificates, passports, tax info, etc. no money or anything.

no but my parents did at there last house- she had calfornia closets add one to her closest behind clothes for storing jewlery - it was accessed with a key

We received ours as a Xmas gift, but it's one I've seen in stores at Target, Office Depot, etc
It's fire proof and water proof.

No, we keep all the ss cards, birth certs, passports, etc. in a bank box at Commerce so we can access it on Sundays even if we wanted.
We had a waterproof, fireproof one but everything got mildewy in it.  The company said it's b/c we live in a damp environment.

we bought one from target. i have a lot of things i'd rather just keep in a safe deposit box, but there is a long waiting list for a box at the bank!

DH has a firearm safe that is also fire-proof built into the house.
My Mom had a floor safe drilled into the slab of our house for her jewelry when I was a kid. Our house got robbed once & the robbers never even found the safe.
