Do you have a sectional or a sofa/loveseat combo?

We're debating which to get and I'd appreciate some input!

I have a sectional in my family room/den. In my formal living room , I have a couch and then a seating area with two chairs (but I considered getting a love seat).

Imo, I think a sectional is great for a more casual space for hanging out, watching TV. I like separate pieces for a more formal, sitting room (which I know not everyone wants or has).

But consider how many people you want to seat, too. If you are concerned about the number of people you can seat, I would maybe get the couch and love seat. Sometimes with the sectional, you lose seating because of the corners. And if you get a really big sectional, it can be hard to fit it in a room, unless you have a huge room. I have a small sectional in my den, but I have a few ottomans for extra seating.

we have a sectional in our living room, but it is not at all a formal room. the functionality of it with 3 kids is great, but i can't wait til they are a little older and i can get a regular sofa/loveseat/chair combo.

it is a PITA to move and clean behind and under.

We have a separate sofa & loveseat. Never had any problems with it. I've never had a sectional.

We have a sofa and a loveseat. I like how they're not right next to each other - I think it makes the room feel bigger to have that space between them. Our living room is small and if we'd gotten a sectional, the room would be ALL sectional.

In our den we have a sectional and couch and loveseat in our formal LR.
