Do you have a service plan for gas furnace?
We got something about this from National Grid and are debating getting the service contract. Anyone have it or choose not to get it? Any pros and cons are appreciated.

we do not have one. The guy that installed our gas burner told us that we do not need a service contract because a gas burner does not need to be serviced like an oil burner.
We have had our burner for almost 6 years now and *knock on wood* have never had a problem or needed any service on it.

We have the National Grid service contract.
We just bought the home two months ago and the previous owner had the contract so we continued it. Our burner is old we're hoping to get as much life out of it as we can before having to replace it and figured regular maintenance would help prolong its life for now.

Re: Do you have a service plan for gas furnace?
when I moved into my house I wanted to get a contract - they would not give me one because the unit in the house "is expensive and they would not cover any of the parts b/c it would cost too much too them" as thet put it
