Re: Do you have any lingering "side effects" from childbirth?
Besides the flabby stomach and stretch marks...
I have bladder control issues, I can't hold it anymore. I am only 2 months PP but I have been bleeding almost non stop ever since. I have my second period of the month and it is driving me crazy. Also constipation, ugh!

Bruised tail bone. I had very bad back labor with DD and ever since giving birth my tail bone has never stopped hurting. If i sit a certain way it gets painful.
Oh yeah and forget about holding it in when i have to pee. Those muscles down there have weakend so to say

I'd love to blame being fat on it but I'm 3 yr pp.

ridiculously painful ovulation.
I have that too. When I asked my ob/gyn about it, she said it's not pregnancy but a normal change in cycle that happens to everyone.

I think I have that too... I went through 15+ hours of horrific back pain, and ever since I delivered I'm having back pain. I can't sit in one position for two long because it starts to hurt so bad.

Re: Do you have any lingering "side effects" from childbirth?
I still get nose bleeds - I got them a lot when I was preggo and I don't know why I still get them.
The other "side effect" is good/bad - my very irregular cycle seems to have regulated which is good for future TTC (downside being I get AF more often than I was pre-preggo)
Everything else, including my pant size and bra size is back to normal.

I have bad knee pain, it started a month or so after the baby was born. I was just about to get an MRI when I got pregnant again so I am going to get it looked at right after I have the baby.
Me too (not the pg part). I get RLS (restless leg syndrome) really bad. It hurts so bad. I don't know why.
Also, the 15 pounds are linguring even though I have a "bathroom" problem. My belly skin is loser.
I had a MC and after the D&E I pee more but didn't have that after the baby.

fat, flabby stomach with stretch marks....
TMI I ended up with an intenstinal infection right after birth (go to the bathroom ALOT) - I still never really had a normal BM yet.

So I guess the stomach issues are normal. Well, on a positive note, it helped me lose the weight pretty quickly because I never wanted to eat!
That's a good plus!
Hey do you like yogurt?? A friend of mine who has IBS told me years ago that a yogurt a day has helped regulate her... I've having a yogurt daily and I swear it has been doing wonders for my belly... it's worth a shot if you like it!
It sucks to be afraid to eat really... I am like Trish used to be, I cringe at the thought of going out to eat!
I actually just started eating yogurt yesterday! (and afterwards my stomach was grumbling ). But I had also heard that it's supposed to help with your stomach. I'll give it a shot!
For IBS I was told by my Dr. to take 2 fiber a day and it keeps it at bay. Might want to try that!

Re: Do you have any lingering "side effects" from childbirth?
me, well my IBS is back and fierce! Cant eat anything without having to run to the bathroom about 30 minutes after eating. During my pg it was gone! My right ab muscle must be out of place. It hurts all the time. I can finally hold in my pee but I still cant stop the stream completely when peeing ( kegel's) My back hurts 24-7 and I still once in awhile get pain where the stitches were down there. oh forgot about my foot size. was a 6 1/2 just bought size 7 for a wedding wore them my foot was sliding off- open toe sandal- so I dont know what size I really am maybe now a 6 1/2 wide.

Re: Do you have any lingering "side effects" from childbirth?
One foot is now a half size bigger than the other. VERY annoying. Also, when I have to pee now I can not hold it in for long so I am still going to the bathroom constantly.

Nope. All I have is my c section scar, but no side effects. I feel exactly the same as I did before her.

Re: Do you have any lingering "side effects" from childbirth?
wow, I had no idea that so many of the things that happened to me were so common.....sorry everyone went through all this but it does make me feel better!
I had bad incontinence for about 2 months and had to constantly wear a pantyliner - DS cremated my bladder muscles
severe inflammation of my kneecaps so I couldn't bend them or climb stairs without intense pain - not sure how or why this happened!?
sebacious cyst on my boob - not dangerous but very unattractive
oh and of course, my enormous hips and thighs, and stomach that looks permanently 5 months pregnant

My c-section scar is sometimes a bit tender, but honestly that is my only pregnancy and childbirth side effect. And I'm hoping some day that goes away!

Re: Do you have any lingering "side effects" from childbirth?
Ok, here are my lingering effects. First off, It hurts when me and DH do the deed.. it may sound gross or TMI but seriously it is like I am a virgin again every single time we BD which I have to admit hasnt been often these days b/c it is so painful. I actually made an appt to speak with my OB/GYN about it, cause I seriously dont think its normal.
Second, and this really may be TMI but right before I am about to go #2 I get shooting pains inside my butt like lightening striking me from the inside. It is sooooooooooo bizarre. I actually spoke to my DR about it and she said that that happens alot from all the pushing and bearing down. It actually has a medical term but i forgot it. So I always know if I get those lightening bolts I better find a bathroom within 10-15 min...
Thats about it. No stretch marks, no extra weight, just the inability to have enjoyable sex and a rectum that gives me electric shocks.
<-------------BUT WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT FACE??? He's so worth it.....

Same here - had the horrific back labor also and now I always get pains in the tailbone area.
My feet are 1/2 size bigger and I still haven't lost all the PG weight almost two years PP.
On a positive note... my formerly completely irregular cycle is now regular - and AF is much shorter and lighter and my PMS has all but disappeared.

Now that you're posting this, I have to say that I feel nauseous alot and often feel full, even though I'm hungry (if that even makes sense). I never had this before. I didn't even attribute it to post-PG. I wonder why these things happen.

Re: Do you have any lingering "side effects" from childbirth?
I got acid reflux thanks to Patrick. I was able to eat all sorts of spicy/cajun food before. Now I just can't.
And I still can't lie on my belly it's still tender after the second c-section.
