Do you have solar panels?
Is so did you buy or lease? How much money are you saving per month on your electric bill? Which company are you using?
I set up an appointment with level solar for next week.

Re: Do you have solar panels?
I bought mine about 5.5 years ago. I got mine from SunNation. They are generating about 2/3 of our annual electricity usage. http://www.sunationsolarsystems.com/

We have solar panels. Bought them. Dh was in charge of that whole project. Fm me any specifics and I can ask him. I know we got a rebate from the government (but I think they stopped that program?). Our bills are only like $100 a month and that's for a big 5bedroom house.

Thanks. Everyone I know who has them raves how low their energy bills are.

Re: Do you have solar panels?
We've had ours for two years. According to my DH, our panels have covered at least 3/4 of our usage. It would have covered all if it wasn't for so much snow this winter.
We also keep our AC on 80 when we are not home and 75 when home. We have ceiling fans in all bedrooms/den and use energy efficient light bulbs in every fixture/light. As I'm off for the summer, I only use the dryer for sheets/towels, everything else is line dried.
We have a 2700 sq ft house.
We used Harvest Power and we bought them. Fed/State rebates covered about 65% of the price.

Do you have solar panels?
We just signed a contract with Long Island Power Solutions to get ours. We are purchasing and the system is designed to generate 110% of our last years electric consumption. We have a 3000 +SF home and we are getting 42 panels on 2 roofs. Rebates for us will cover about 50% of the cost. IF all goes according to plan, we will no longer have an electric bill more than the connection charge.

Re: Do you have solar panels?
We lease and our entire PSE&G bill is covered by our system, we only pay a small connection fee each month.
EmPower installed our system.

For all those that either bought or leased their panels, can you tell me how much it cost you? FM would be great. Thanks!

For those that leased what made you choose to lease instead of purchase. For us we wanted to eliminate the bill long term. We also plan to stay in our home forever. After 12 years our financing will be paid and other than the connection charge there is no bill.
What are the pros to leasing?

I think if you can't afford to purchase leasing is another option

Re: Do you have solar panels?
We lease and it cost us nothing to install. We pay a small fixed monthly lease payment (about 1/3 of our monthly winter LIPA bill) and a small connection fee to PSEG each month ($8-12 depending on how many days are in the billing period).

We bought. Nothing out of pocket, 209 a month for 12 years and the connection charge. After the 12 years we pay nothing but the connection to pseg. Also if our system over produces pseg will buy that back from us.

Re: Do you have solar panels?
We were an early adopter (about 5.5 years ago), before any leasing plans were even an option. I wouldn't have leased anyway. Our system covers about 2/3 of our usage (about 8400 watts), and we paid about $17k out of pocket.
