Do you have to sign papers when you make an offer?

Dh and I have been looking for a house for 3 years....We have made many offers and were even in contract once......Out of all the offers we made we were never required to sign any forms until now. We put in an offer on Sat and still have not heard a response from the seller although the realtor call me a hundred times a day to ask me mortgage related questions even though he has our pre-approval and now he wants me to come to the office today to sign papers about the offer......So my question is did anyone have to do this? What kind of papers am I signing? This guy is annoying the sh$t out of me and I still don't know what the sellers think of our offerChat Icon

Yes, we had to sign a binder when we put our offer in and a disclosure for the lead-based paint issues. It's normal.

Did you do this after your offer was accepted? I remeber doing this after we had an offer accepted. Our offer has not been accepted.

Yes, it will just say your offer on it and your down payment. Most of the time its done after the offer is accepted, but it doesn't really matter. The selling agent or seller might want to see your signature to prove you are serious.
