Do you have to Travel for your job?
I'm currently looking at a new job that will include regular travel in the New England and Mid-Atlantic region. I've never had to travel for work before and am not sure really what to expect without actually experiencing it.
For those of you who have to travel, what are some of the pros and cons (if any) of having to travel for work.
Also, is it alright to expect a higher salary than a similar position with zero travel?
Thanks so much in advance!!

Re: Do you have to Travel for your job?
I have worked for componies where I had to travel to Europe, AIsia and Trade Shows. I have to do it with my new job as well.
Pro-you get to travel for Free! They encouraged you bringing your spouse at your own expense, of course.
Cons-I missed my kids. You can never plan too far in the future because they would spring it on you last minute. You are exausted and in a foreign country.
If you have no children it's great. If you have children, I would reevaluate if you have someone to watch them and how long you would be away. I was away 6-8 days each trip. AND YOU MISS THEM MORE THAN YOU EVER THOUGHT POSSIBLE!
ETA-The salary was really good, not sure what you wpuld be doing, I was in wholesale/import.
