Do you have wainscoting in your bathroom?
If you do, does it have any water damage?
Ours does, so I was thinking it was odd to put it in a room that gets so wet, but I see that lots of people have it.
Did you paint it with special mildew resistant paint?
We inherited this, so I don't know what's been done to it before.

we have it and put it in ourselves. No water damage you need to put a fan in the bathroom to avoid the excess steam..

Yeah, that makes sense, but we live in a co-op so we can't do anything to the outside walls.
We have a huge moisture problem in general.
I have to decide if I should try & fix this, or rip it out & tile, which seems like a giant PIA.

Ours goes out the ceiling. Do you have people above you? Are you allowed to touch the roof?

I have it in my bathroom and I stained mine. So far, so good. No damage. We have a exhaust fan in there so that helps.

My MIL has it and made a little white distressed look on it. No problems with mold.

Thanks -guys, so it really is just me! 
The full bath isn't moldy, really, it's just that the paint is peeling & the wood is soft, where it meets the tub on either side.
The half bath, somehow gets moldy behind the toilet. That's' weird, because there isn't any stem in there, but I think easier to fix.
We bleached it, which worked, but removed some of the paint, but I think if we paint with mold resistant paint, it will help, but its' hard to reach behind the toilet! 
ETA- For those that said it isn't painted, is it stained, then? I'm not even sure if this stuff is real wood, or composition board. The wainscoting in the vestebule is plastic.
