I sure don't!

no matter who gets elected, there is just no way that's happening IMO.

I really HOPE it doesn't happen. It would be really irresponsible IMO. As are tax cuts during 2 wars.

But I really do think we should close corporate loopholes and that can save enough money to relieve the tax burden on the middle class, no matter what the economic climate.

I don't believe we'll get tax cuts anytime soon... maybe down the line - like years? But even then, probably not. I'm OK with that - I understand that I need to help, along with everyone else, dig ourselves out of this hole we got ourselves into. And, I'm hoping, that the tax increases - whatever they are - are better than the inevitable danger of what looms in our future if we don't do something now and put some money forward. It is reality and I'm accepting it b/c what else can you do? Bang your head against the wall? Makes no sense at this point.

No, I think tax cuts are a pipe dream.
It really blows that Americans are so swayed by the romance of possible tax cuts that both candidates feel compelled to lie about it.

Nope. I also think that we should let the Bush tax cuts expire until we get out of this mess.

No, in fact, we should expect tax increases in one form of another, regardless of which candidate gets elected.

No and I don't mind being taxed. I just don't want to have the government take that $$ and spend more of it wastefully. I want them to take my $$ and be fiscally conservative.... I want to get out of the deficit so I and our future children can be taxed less, not looked upon as an endless cash cow.

No, I don't and I thought this way before the bail-out.

McCain will continue the war in Iraq and all of Obama's plans (health care, schools, etc.) is more money as well.

We are headed down the road to more taxes regardless.

no and I am not concerned with tax cuts, IMHO, there are bigger fish to fry

we are seriously screwed as a nation if the bill does not get passed, that will affect ALL of us a lot more than not getting the benefit of tax cuts Chat Icon

No, but I didn't think either candidate would be able to have tax cuts before this anyway.

not at all.

I wish they'd stop talking tax cuts, because it's REALLY not going to happen.

We can all see how well Bush's economic stimulus package helped... Chat Icon I think both candidates are telling people what they want to hear, and playing to the people that would rather just listen than make an informed decision.

wait, are you asserting that the tax rebates everyone was SO happy and excited about only a few months ago, contributed to the banks who need to be bailed out? Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I think it was just another smokescreen or a band aid when there were much bigger problems looming. Just something that might help a little in the short term and make people happy but would not be productive and could hurt in the long term(like the "gas tax holiday" nonsense)

I don't see a tax cut coming for anyone after this bailout.

That's not what I said at all.

I mention the economic stimulus package because it was just another way to give the people what they wanted, definitely not at the best time, but it's what people wanted to hear and we were all happy to get that check in the mail. Does that mean it was a smart decision? Absolutely not!

I think in this election, the term "tax cut" is coming up far too often, when it's not a reasonable possibility. Could they cut taxes? Sure, they could. But that would be digging us even deeper into the hole, the way the economic stimulus did.

ITA!!!! I am not voting based on taxes anyway (and yes I am affected by Obama's tax proposal). However, imo there are way more serious issues at stake. BTW, with all this talk about taxes, I've yet to hear anyone address the AMT which, is personally killing me. So, in short, I just don't beleive that I, or anyone else, will be paying less in taxes anytime soon.
