Clsoed, and the master bedroom door too or the cat will go in and pee on the rugs. I hate it so much but what can you do? One day that won;t be an issue anymore! Chat Icon

Closed for us too because of our furry friend.....he sees the toilet as a drinking fountain and loves to eat dirty qtips from the trash.

who said cats were clean animals? haha

P.S. He has asked for a closed lid garbage can from Santa, then we will try to leave the door open for ventilation with toilet seat down.

Re: Do you keep unoccupied bathroom doors open or closed?

we had to recently start closing it because one of our dogs loves to go in there and lock himself in... when we first moved in my golden was sleeping in the tub (the cool place in the summer) and my black lab went in and locked the door behind them... they then went into a complete panic and my hollow core door had a huge hole in it (about 3 feet high).... for several months people would come by and when they asked about the dorr we would tell them aligators tried to attack us from the sewers....

I grew up keeping them totally open, but once DH and I got married, he said it was "white trash to keep them open".

We actually had a big fight about this one night. I decided it wasn't worth it and now keep them closed.

Our bathroom door is always open.. if its closed someone's in there!

Same here. For some reason I feel weird closing doors unless there is a reason.
