Do you know how to use all gym equipment?
I didn't really have anyone to ask and there are no instructions at the machines in my building's gym so some of them were just a mystery to me. All these months.
I finally went to a new employee who is using the gym and asked her if she knew how to use three particularly mysterious machines. So yesterday she showed me. And wouldn't you know it, one of them is for 2 exercises I already do without weights!
Now I feel silly for not asking before, and thought I might not be alone in this. This is what the machine kind of looks like and it's for working your hips and your butt!
So there ya go. It pays to ask.

I've been going to the gym for 6 years and I've never seen a machine like that.

A lot of gyms don't have them anymore. They're the old school versions of the ones you sit down on and push your legs either in or out. The stand up one is so much more effective, you can't properly work those muscles (adductors & abductors) sitting down. It sucks that theyve been phased out at most gyms.

I just joined the local gym today and the membership comes with a 1 hour intro to the machines. After reading this post, I guess I should take them up on that offer!

Re: Do you know how to use all gym equipment?
Glad to see I'm not the only one. It also doesn't surprise me that the equipment is outdated. It's free though so I'm not complaining!
I used it on Friday for the first time and it was great.

Yup. I found it so much more effective. My old gym in MA had it. It was great for glutes too... I never used it for quads though
Here's a video of the 4 different ways to use it.
