Do you label pencils, markers and highlighters?

I was going to just label the pencil box and put them in there, but someone mentioned labeling each item.

What do you do?

Thanks!

I never labeled the individual items. A lot of times they are pooled together anyway for the class to use. If they requested an individual pencil box, then yes, just label that and stick everything inside.

One of my friends is a K teacher in my district. I asked her the same question and she said not to.

I dont label crayons, pencils, markers , or highlighters. In DS's class, all of those supplies get pooled together. I only label his folder and stuff that is only for him.

Re: Do you label pencils, markers and highlighters?

depends on the teacher...DS is starting kindergarten and the teacher asked us to label each individual marker with DS name ...DD is starting 2nd grade and didnt ask us to do that. so for her, i just labled the box of markers and all other supplies being sent in...DD supplies are community (according to the supply list) where DS supplies, i think some will be his personally. id find out from the teacher what she wants (or if she didnt specify, just label it however you want)

No, only the larger items that need to be taken home at some point.

Re: Do you label pencils, markers and highlighters?

My son's teacher says no pencil box so he has to label everything, 12 pencils, 8 markers, 1 highlighter, folders, glue and pair of scissors. He will be a 5th grader.

I ordered labels with his name on them in all different sizes..worth it.

this! pencil box is always labeled, but most of the supplies (pencils, erasers ecct) are pooled together for the entire class.
