Do you ladies ask alot of questions at your Dr. appointments?
I hardly ever have any questions to ask the doctor when i'm there. I feel like I learn so much on here and i'm always reading What To Expect and stuff like that. Sometimes I feel stupid when they ask if I have any questions and I say no...I feel like they must think I don't care about my pregnancy.

I ask virtually no question either... I did this not too long ago with DD so all the info is still pretty fresh in my mind.

If something comes up between doctor's appts, I'll put it on a post it so I remember to ask. Other than that, nope, no questions.

Re: Do you ladies ask alot of questions at your Dr. appointments?
No, there isnt much to ask. At this point (almost 38 weeks) I have more questions than before, like how long after my due date will they let me go, etc. But overall unless I am not feeling well the only question I ususally asked was about timeline, like when my next sono was, next bloodwork, etc.

Usually no questions here. By the time my dr.'s app't. rolls around, I usually forget what I wanted to ask anyway.

ITA!! I said this at my last appt. and the doctor told me I should write my questions down. If I could remember to do that when I think of them I would.
I'm not very inquisitive anyway. If I want to know about something I'll ask here or I'll look for it in one of the books I have.

Ditto- plus ( can you tell I'm getting sick and tired of my Drs office?) every time I ask a question, I get a nasty and vague response. LIke- "Hey doc- I had a horrific charlie horse in my calf- and tips on how to prevent?" His answer in my mind- "Could be a potassium deficiency, eat bananas, stretch, drink water 13 minutes before bed and hop on the good leg..." His answer in real life- "Yeah, give birth". I went for an emergency appointment a few weeks ago after a pretty terrible pain in my lower abdomen- a hole was in the room for 30 seconds- asked me why I was there- I explained best I could- no follow up questions or anything - he just says- "yeah that happens, get used to it- we can listen to the heartbeat if it would make you feel better". 60 seconds of Dr time. Thanks for talking to me like I'm some overreacting hypocondriac. I need a new Dr office I think.

I always have questions...and can never remember while I'm there! I guess that's why everyone always tells me to write them down!

Re: Do you ladies ask alot of questions at your Dr. appointments?
As soon as something comes up, I run to my computer and ask here, so I dont really have anything to ask when I get to the doctor

I'm sorry - I would NOT be happy with a dr. like that at all - I mean, when you are in labor, do you want him saying, "Look, lady - your in labor - what did you expect???"

I agre. My practice has like 12 doctors- and they make you see all of thrm, since you don't know who will deliver your baby. So I don't get to have a relationship with any of them. Now I'm figuring- they're all strangers- why can't I see one Dr for all appointments since a stranger will deliver anyway?

Re: Do you ladies ask alot of questions at your Dr. appointments?
With my first I always brought long lists in which they always made fun of me. I didnt' care. I read a lot of books and got a lot of different advice from my friends and BTDT moms. I wanted to here things from my doctors as well.
With this pregnancy I bring a lot of my questions to the high risk dr.s No one makes fun there I think it's imporetant to ask questions, why not. that is what they are there for even if you 'think' you may know what it is or the answer...ask...

I have never asked any questions other than "what are my hospital options for delivery?"

Re: Do you ladies ask alot of questions at your Dr. appointments?
I ALWAYS have a sheet of questions ready to ask the doctor.... Of course as the time between appointments gets shorter, so does the list...

Re: Do you ladies ask alot of questions at your Dr. appointments?
The first appointment....I had very few questions except to ask if I could SEE this thing in me to verify it was really there!!
Tomorrow I have my 13 week appointment and have several questions!
Some I will be asking: Is it OK to get massages as the place I go is leary especially within the first trimester? (which I know is almost over anyhow!!)
What hospital will I be delivering at since the Dr. has an office in West Islip and an office in Bethpage that he has hours at only 2 days a week. I prefer Good Sam any how so I am hoping for that to be the answer!
