If I lived in a ranch no way. We close all the main level windows.

No way, I would be way too nervous and I live in a very safe neighborhood. Too many wackos out and about these days.

My mother came over and freaked when she saw that we leave the kids windows open during the night. Do you? We live in a ranch house.
You mean all the way open, no locks to stop them from going up?
I wouldn't even leave them open with locks on if I lived in a ranch. No way.

Re: Do you leave your DC's windows open at night?
DD's room is on the 2nd floor. We mostly use AC but I had DH install those Window locks, where the window can only open a certain amount when the lock is set. That way when her windows are open, there isn't enough room for anyone to fit through.

Ranch here and no I dont. I cant even sleep with the windows open in my own room!!!
This is us too. I am way too neurotic for this...no windows are left open at night in our house (or when we're not home during the day).

Re: Do you leave your DC's windows open at night?
Nope. I live in a ranch so there is no way I would leave her windows open. In fact, we don't leave ANY windows open at night. We live in a nice area (Stony Brook) BUT I cannot sleep well unless our alarm system is armed at night. (And when we're not home the house is also armed) I might be nuts but I feel better knowing my house and us are protected at night.

Re: Do you leave your DC's windows open at night?
The last 2 days I have actually shut off the CAC and opened the windows because it is has been so nice and not humid. I have been leaving the their windows open but we are on the second floor.

Re: Do you leave your DC's windows open at night?
No...not unless we lived like on the 15th floor, Im too nervous. Also nervous b/c our screens in our windows pop out very easily and I would worry in the middle of the night he would go to look at the moon or something and push on it, etc....

Re: Do you leave your DC's windows open at night?
always! we never use AC unless it's super hot--didn't use it at night a single day this summer.
we love the breeze from outside. i can't live my life in fear. i refuse to live that way.

Re: Do you leave your DC's windows open at night?
no way. i have a climber.
if our windows are open we put locks on them to only allow them to open so much.
while painting once i caught this monkey sitting in window screen. he was almost a goner.

Re: Do you leave your DC's windows open at night?
We have CAC so we always keep them closed. I have an air sanitizer in his room, so the windows still stay shut so none of the outside allergens can come in.

Re: Do you leave your DC's windows open at night?
No, his window is shut at night. His room is on the first floor but you would need a ladder to access his window. We keep it closed partially because the noise wakes him up.

Re: Do you leave your DC's windows open at night?
No because we have a ranch.
I do keep it open until I go to bed. I feel bad that he's not getting that extra fresh air, but I'd never be able to sleep if it was open.

I also live in a ranch and would never leave any windows in my house open overnight. If I were you I would probably get some sticks to put in the windows so they can't be opened all the way
