Do you like birthday parties at kiddie party places or at someone's home better?

Do your kids have more fun at a kiddie party place or someone's home?

2yo DS seems to have fun at both.

We are buying a home and I was originally planning to throw the party at our new house. Now I think it will be a massive hassle with moving, buying furniture, decorating, ordering food, getting entertainment, etc. I thought maybe I'd buy a moon bounce for the house.

Cost is a non-issue. The home party would probably cost me more at the end. I was just wondering what type of party your kids enjoyed more.

I actually enjoy them both to be completely honest.

either is fine - do what is easiest for you. I had DD's 2nd birthday at her music together place and loved having it there instead of our home.

I feel like set up and clean up will be a PITA at home.

It puts a lot of stress to get the house ready for guests as well. We will have about 3 weeks to move, furnish and decorate.

I wouldn't even consider doing it at home under those circumstances. Totally do it at a place and relax and enjoy it.

I think the kids like party places better.

Depends, but I've been leaning towards having it somewhere b/c of what the PP's said...

they take care of the set up and clean up
Also, when you have it at home people will stay forever! Ha! Especially my family.
At a place it's an hour and a half to two hours then you gotta leave.

I had DS's 2nd b-day party at my house when I was 8 months prego. It was a pool party and we hired a lifeguard.
I was a mess watching the kids in the pool, making sure everything was out and there was enough to eat, praying weather would be good, kept moving food to shave as the day went on and making sure the decorations stayed and didn't blow away.

For his 3rd b-day it's at a place! LOL
