Do you like your Prima Papa Highchair? Edited with another question..

I was orginally going to get the Chicco Polly, but now I am thinking of the Prima Papa.

Rants/Raves?

TIA!

So I was just searching online for the best price and saw that the new 2008 model is out. It's $229. Do you think it's worth it? It is a new fabric that is suuposed to be washable like the leatherette.

I have the Prima Papa in Oatmeal. I haven't used it as yet but I chose this because it is a leatherette material that I will be able to clean it easily when it gets dirty. Also, you can remove the tray to wash it.

ETA: It can be reclined to different positions as well.

Have it and love it. It's nice for smaller kids, the 5 pt harness is easy to use and it reclines, which I like.

Honestly, I really don't see much of a difference but if you want it then get it.

I have it in the Jade Cube and DS is still using it at 19.5 months and let me tell you it is a B**** to clean. I have no idea if it is just my son or the high chair but I feel like I am constantly taking everything apart to clean it. I do like that it reclines, it came in so handy when he was 4-6 months old and I was feeding him in their and the seat cover is vinyl so I like that too but I made the mistake one day over the summer. I took the cover off and hosed it down outside because DS made a huge mess. Well their was small tear in the vinyl that I dind't know about and that cushion was drippin for days.
I don't think I would get this again. I can't tell you how many times I complain about it to my DH.

I have read about this in some reviews but i have also read the same thing abot other high chairs...Chat Icon In my research about this, I did find out that you can buy a new pad for the chair.

same here. love mine. still looks as good as new.

ETA: I bought a navy blue high chair cover at BRU to put over it and it keeps the chair so much cleaner. I got pop the cover off, throw it in the washing machine and back in it goes. Makes like so much easier!

I had a Chicco Polly and it was a pain in the tush to clean. I sold it on Ebay for almost full price and got a Stokke Tripp Trapp chair (knock off) and I freaking love it. Its sooo easy to clean, he can use it until he like 30...I love it.

I also have it in oatmeal and love it. Because of all the features (trays that come off, full recline, etc) there are a lot of places for crumbs and food to go but it is really easy to clean if you do it every day. If the food dries on it, it can get a little messy but I just wipe it down with no problems.

ITA I spray mine down with Clorox Anywhere spray daily and it cleans up so well!

This was a hand me down and I hated it. The tray was too high for MAdeline when she was young- it came up to her shoulders almost , and she had to reach up and over to get her food. Plus it takes up a lot of room and doesn't fold up easy ( at least mine didn't, it was an older model.) I would have been disappointed if I had spent money on it.

I have the 2007 model. I bought it for DS#2 because I heard great things about it from my SIL. However, I'm disappointed. My highchair from DS#1 was from Kmart and I liked it 10x more. I didn't buy his highchair and was extremely upset when a family member gave it to me since it wasn't off my registry. I threw it away when we where moving because it didn't go with my new kitchen. I regret it now because I find the Papa to be a PITA. Specifically what annoys me is that I feel like no matter no how many times I clean it, I'm still finding stuff that has spilled under the padding.

I have the Chico Polly and love it. I figured I'd mention it since it was the other high chair you said you were looking at!

Chat Icon

The Polly doesn't have a bar on the bottom in between the chair legs so it makes it easier to sweep or vacuum under the chair (if that matters!). Chat Icon

I've heard great things about the Prima Papa though too!!

This is my problem with it. If you take the seat cover off their seems to be a screws attached to so many things and then crumbs and what not get stuck in their and then you have that take it apart to clean Chat Icon . I will also add that I loved the high chair until DS started to feed him self exclusivly so up until about 14-15 months, it's just gone down hill from their. Today I actually found another tear in the seat. I think for the money it should be really easy to clean (meaning not so many nooks and cranys).

If I had to do it over again I would get a good highchair for under $100 and then get the Stokke chair that Racheee posted.

Re: Do you like your Prima Papa Highchair? Edited with another question..

I got an older Prima Papa as a hand-me-down. I spent the money to replace the padding and the tray (I bought the covered tray with cup holder) I LOVED this chair! It is super sturdy. I was so upset when my daughter outgrew it. It was a great chair.

However, it can be a bit hard to clean if you don't keep up with it. If you make a habit of doing it each night, it's not bad at all.
