DO you remember how long it took for you to go from 5cm - 10cm?
I know it varies by person. My SIL just got her epi, she is 5 cm. I was wondering when she is going to have this baby
TIA

I think around 4-5 hours. I was 2-3 cm when I went to the hospital at 2:30 am. Started pushing at 8:15 and dd was born at 9 on the dot.

I got my EPI around 5cm as well that was at noon - Hannah was born at 7:15pm
ETA: Started pushing around 6pm. So I guess for me it was 6 hours.

Re: DO you remember how long it took for you to go from 5cm - 10cm?
I have no idea. The first time they checked me I was 7cm, the next time they checked me I was fully dilated. That might have been about 2 hours or so.

Re: DO you remember how long it took for you to go from 5cm - 10cm?
I think it really varies. I'm not sure exactly when I was 5 cm., but I was induced, and I was 4 at 7 am (this after beginning at 10 pm). DS was not born until 8:50 that night, so it took about 14 hrs. for me to go from 4 to 10 and push.
Is this her first child? If so, it could be awhile.

Re: DO you remember how long it took for you to go from 5cm - 10cm?
The general rule for first time mothers is about 1cm an hour once in active labor (appr 4cm) also about 1-2hrs of pushing.

Re: DO you remember how long it took for you to go from 5cm - 10cm?
Went to the hospital at around 5pm.... I was 3cm. Since Doc and I wanted to wait until DH could make it to the hospital he did not induced me until around 7:30pm. Got the epi around 8:30. Had DD at 10:05, with only 10 minutes of pushing.

Dam*, after looking at other times, I think DS better give me some really nice Mother's Day gifts when he is old enough!
Good luck! I hope she has her baby soon and all goes well.
