Do you shred stuff at home?
Do you use a paper shredder for stuff at home? We shred anything that has significant info on it. Credit card statements, financial info, credit card applications with our names on them, etc.

Re: Do you shred stuff at home?
DH brings stuff with our personal information (credit card numbers, pay stubs, SS #s) into work to shred. He works at a bank so they have an industrial shredding bin.

same here! DH never did that and I couldn't believe the stuff he would throw out. He thought I was off my rocker when I would pull stuff out of the garbage to shred. Now he leaves it for me in the shredder spot.

Re: Do you shred stuff at home?
Things with financial info, credit card offers or bills, etc. If it's just our name & address, I just recycle it since that info is easy to get.
Plus we live in a building which makes me feel slightly more at ease since there would be a ton of garbage to go through just to get my specific information.

Yes, anything with our name, address, phone #, account #s, credit card applications. We have one of those cross-cut shredders. I'm paranoid about identity theft (especially since when I lived in an apartment I would see people sifting through the dumpsters and going through the trash.)

We were the opposite. I never used to shred things (I'd tear them up, but not shread them). DH had a paper shredder when we moved in together and since then we shred anything remotely important or with important identifying info on it. He was way ahead of me.

Re: Do you shred stuff at home?
If it's anything with personal information that I don't need a file on it's off to the shredder!

Re: Do you shred stuff at home?
I either tear things up or I bring them to work. I hired a shredding company for my office and we have a locked bin for the papers. Also, I save a lot of papers.

Of course! We operate a very paranoid household.
I only shred stuff with personal info, not the outer envelopes & advertisements--those get recycled!

I shred important stuff. We'd be lost without the shredder. LOL.

I shred anything with our information on it. My BIL had his identity stolen and it was a nightmare trying to get everything straightened out. I don't take ANY chances.

Re: Do you shred stuff at home?
I shred anything with ANY info on it. Even in the middle of my catalogs they have my name/info,and I pull that out and shred it too.
Even anyone's name who mails me anything, I shred theirs too. I am a big fan!

Yes. We shred mostly the credit card offers that come in.
