Do you still carry DC in car seat, or take her/him out of it and leave in car
when you're leaving the house or coming back home
Usually we have the carrier in the house, and always carry DD in the carrier in and out of the house....
but she's getting bigger/heavier and now I'm wondering if to just leave the seat in the car....just curious what you all do, or at what age you stopped taking it in and out
Also, sometimes its hard to buckle her in while sitting in the car...at least it is for me

I feel the same way... DS is getting heavy PLUS the carseat is pretty heavy.
In the mornings I put him in, bundle him up and carry him to the car in it. When we get to daycare I carry him down the hall and leave the carseat in the car. IT's a long hall to get to the infant room.
When we're out with DH he always carries him in the carseat out.

Re: Do you still carry DC in car seat, or take her/him out of it and leave in car
We still use the carrier - it's getting heavy for me so when it's me & DH, he always carries her in it!
I did take her out of it the other day to visit my old job and I find it VERY difficult to get her in & out of the seat when it's in the minivan (I can't imagine what it would have been like if I still had my Jeep Cherokee).
Since Ann still is pretty small for her age, I'm thinking we can make it through the cold months still carrying her in the seat.
Agh! Erica you just made me think of daycare! Sometimes I drop off but DH always picks up ... I guess as long as she is in the infant seat, I'll need to carry her in it so it's there when he picks her up

Re: Do you still carry DC in car seat, or take her/him out of it and leave in car
I stopped probably around 6/7 months. She wasn't that heavy and it was especially nice when she was sleeping. After that she got too heavy and hated being in her car seat anyway so I started just leaving it in the car and taking her in and out.

Re: Do you still carry DC in car seat, or take her/him out of it and leave in car
I am still carrying DS in the carseat. At 9.5 months and 21 lbs, he is very heavy. Unfortunately we only have one car seat and DH takes DS to daycare in the morning and I pick him up, so the carseat needs to come out of the car every time. I do use the snap and go to pick him up from daycare so I don't have to carry him down the hall and across the street to the car.

Re: Do you still carry DC in car seat, or take her/him out of it and leave in car
He's getting very heavy but I always have had weak arms He's 15.5 lbs and the carseat weighs, what, another 10? So 25 lbs at least. For daycare I take the seat in but sometimes at home like on the weekends I just take him out.
