Re: Do you think 9 weeks is too early

It depends on your job & the relationships you have. I have a gov't job so it wouldn't affect my standing with the company or my workload & I don't have to explain my leave requests.

Re: Do you think 9 weeks is too early

I only told my job that soon b/c I was going to the Dr once a week & had to leave work early. Otherwise I would not have told them until 12 weeks or more (I was not really showing until 15 weeks).

It's up to you. I told work about that time b/c I work for a small firm and one of the attorneys had quit, so my managing attorney and I felt that we should tell the partner.

Re: Do you think 9 weeks is too early

I told my job both times even before 9 weeks. I had too, I was a manager and I needed coverage for dr's appts, sickness, etc. My boss didn't work onsite with me.

ETA: Do what's comfy for you, just remember though you want the news to get your boss from you, not office gossip or from a coworker.

I waited until the first trimester was over, but as others have said, your decision depends on your workplace environment/situation.

I told at 10 weeks because my m/s was so bad. I asked them not to say anything to my coworkers until I was ready
