Do you think a dark navy blue suit is ok for my toddler to wear to a wedding?
Or is it not dressy enough? I haven't found a black suit in his size. We bought a navy one but I'm not sure if that is ok for a wedding?
Also, what color shoes? I feel like black and navy don't go but, not sure if I've ever seen anyone wear brown shoes with a suit

I think a navy suit is fine. Id go with black shoes. I dont think any other color would look right.

I dont know if I understand your post. DH doesnt own a black suit...he owns a grey one and a blue one. He has worn both to weddings and I would never question whether it was dressy enough. If the invitation said black tie then he's wear a tux. As far as the shoes, "brown shoes make the suit....just make sure the shoes match the belt." I think your DS would be completely dressy enough for a wedding with what you have.

I'm going to assume this is a summer wedding, so have you considered a seersucker suit of seersucker blazer and khakis. I think that is super cute for a toddler as opposed to a dark suit. That is what my son wore to my brothers wedding when he was about 18 months.

Thanks ladies. The wedding is black tie optional that is why i wasn't sure. I don't want DS to wear a tux b/c he isn't the ring bearer. I always thought black, or dark grey suits for black tie optional weddings - was just figuring maybe since he is a kid it doesn't matter  It's next weekend b/f memorial day so not sure about the seersucker suit - maybe too casual as well...
so you all think the black shoes is ok?

Oh! Now I understand I would think since he is a toddler the rules can be bent for him! Any dark colored suit would be fine and black shoes if that's all you have sounds great too! I would not make yourself crazy
