Yes! My sister has black hair and I'm blonde and she can have different hair cuts that wouldn't look so good on me because of the color.

EXACTLY! I love dark hair and feel as a blonde I couldn't pull off most of them.

I think a lot of looks with layers and cuts with a lot of shape to them look better with hi-lights instead of one solid color.

ITA. My haircut is pretty short and kinda "spiky"...it looks SO much better with highlights than it used to without them.
