Do you think floating in a pool is actually GOOD for pregnancy?
I wonder because I went in the pool for the first time today and it just felt like I was floating on air. The weightlessness just felt SO great after all the pressure I've been feeling down below. I just wonder if it's not only "okay" and "allowed" but "advised" and "recommended"?
I got the go-ahead from my doc to relax in the pool, but the bonus was how little pressure I felt "down there" after every time I've moved lately the pressure feeling unbearable.

We are always on the same page. LOL
I asked my OB about this today and she said go for it. She said she felt it would be beneficial and would be good for me to get some weightlessness from my belly.

i don't see why it would be bad!
it's funny because I was in a pool this weekend and I did NOT feel like I was floating on air! LOL

As long as the temperature of the pool is not too warm, it's definitely good for you!

I don't think the adjective "heavenly" is exaggerating too much.

I was specifically told to go in a pool to help reduce swelling.

YES! When I very pregnant with DS in the summer. I swear I spent July and August of that year floating in the pool or swimming at the beach. I loved having a few minutes of not feeling like there was a bowling ball in my stomach!

Ugh, yes, my DR said go for it! I LOVE floating in the pool, I think it is not only great for me, but probably the boys too! The only down side is getting out and being instantly reminded of how heavy they are getting!

Do you have a cerclage? I thought maybe you did?
My doctor is dead set against me going in the pool with a cerclage as he said the chlorine can deteriorate the stitch.

Re: Do you think floating in a pool is actually GOOD for pregnancy?
I have been having an affair with my pool for the past month. I float, swim, and just cool off. For me it is the only exercise i can do that doesn't hurt or leave me in worse shape then when I started.

No, thankfully, I never had to have one. That stinks, though, that chlorine affects the stitch. Sorry. :(
