Do you think I have a chance?
Just went in for my first monitoring since starting meds.
Weds-- 300 follistim
1 menopur
Thurs-- 450 gonal
2 menopur
Fri-- 450 gonal
2 menopur
Two 16mm on RT side, some small ones
Only small unmeasurable on LT
The nurse was not concerned bc it's only been 2.5 days but I still expected more :/
Going for acu tomorrow and another sono Monday so hoping I get more progress.

It is way to early. It's only 2.5 days, more will definitely pop up. Don't get discouraged.

I am surprised you have 2 that are measurable after 2.5 days! Usually, I didn't have any to measure until day 6 of stims! I woudl think so far, so good.

Very Very early still. I didn't go back until after 5 days of stims and I had Femara on top of 450 gonal and 2 menopur and had no measurable. They saw a bunch of little ones on both sides but hardly anything.
It took until day 7 of stims to start seeing measurable ones.
Still too early

That does make me feel better!
Could these 2 bigger ones fry out eventually if the others don't catch up fast? They are 16mm. The nurse mentioned the galitrex (?) shot might be needed Monday.

It really depends on what else they see. As the Dr told me, it's sometimes ok to let 1 or 2 go if there are 4 or more that look good.
With those being 16mm, I def. see them starting your ganirelix sooner then later in order to let the other follies grow more.

I started the injections on 11/29 and have been going now every day for monitoring. My biggest follicles are 18mm and then a bunch in between with some smaller unmeasurable ones. Is there a reason they are rushing things? I was told people tend to be on the injections 7-14 days before retrieval. They think I'm geared for retrieval next Weds. I have about 15 total measurable follicles.

Also, they have been lowering my Follistim dose after each visit to slow the growth down a bit to allow the others to reach the optimum size for the removal.

Yes, I totally think they are rushing things bc I have DOR and the labs close the last two weeks in Dec for maintenance. She put me on max stims bc they thought I wouldn't respond. I was never on injectables so it's a guessing game on what happens but she wanted to start off strong in case there was no response.
She had me come back in 3 days after starting stims just in case I responded quick.
They called back and want me starting the ganirelix tomorrow morning. Ugh :/

I think at my first appointments after stimming for IVF I didn't have any measurable follicles. I was on 150 gonal and 150 menopur the first time and 300 gonal and 150 menopur the second time. The second time I went back which was probably 3 days later I had some over 10. I stimmed for 12 days both times.
I can't believe they are at 16 already. Hopefully those get to like 25 and the small ones catch up. I had a bunch of 10-12s at my last monioring appointment before retrieval and they all caught up and were mature.
I hope everything works out. You will be starting your ganirelix very soon since you have 16s. I think I started mine when my largest was 15.

I understand rushing to get in before the holiday but does growing fast do anything to the follicle quality? I also have never been on injectables but they started me on an average dose (300IU for Follistim) and had me come back a couple days later to see the response and then actually lowered it since I had many follicles the same size.

You definitely still have a chance, after two days of stims, I only had small follicles on left and right. Now we are having twins.
