Do you think it matters what I eat the night before my 1 hour glucose test..
as long as I fast for 8 or more hours?
I have my 1hr next Monday. Sunday night I am going for my 3D/4D sonogram with DH and both sets of parents. We are going out to dinner afterwards to an Italian place and I already know what I want (gnocchi bolognese....yumm)
We are going out to eat around 6 or so. I have my glucose test at 8am the next morning. Do you think the pasta will make that big of a difference?
It more comes down to how my body processes the sugary drink, right?

I don't think it matters.
I didn't have to fast, my doctor said to eat like I would normally. I had cereal and coffee before the test and I passed.
Besides, you don't want to "trick" the test. Your health and your babies health is at risk if you do.

I was wondering about this as well. But i don't think it makes a difference.
But why do you have to fast before the drink? My doctors instructions say that it's not necessary.

My prescription my doctor gave me says in big letters 8 HOUR FAST
Some docs make you fast, some dont
I think you have a better chance of passing if you fast. It doesnt matter to me. There is a LabCorp around the block from work that opens at 730 am and I plan to be there then. If I drink, then get blood taken by 830, there is a nice place to get breakfast in the same shopping center. Ill go over and get a bagel and some juice and be fine. I usually dont eat before 9 am anyways

I had to fast for 4 hours before the test (I could not even have water). I wasn't given any instructions about what to eat/not eat before that. I think the fasting is enough. I passed first time.

see i called my doctor to reschedule my appointment and mine isn't until 11am. When i asked if i had to fast, they said no.
I mean if you're appointment isn't until 3pm... they can't expect you to fast until then. Geez... asking me to fast until 11am would be pushing it! 
I wonder why some do and some don't.
