do you think Jamie Lynn'' mom books should be cancelled? is she responsible for what happened?

I do think parents play a major role in the repsonsisbitlty for their childrens actions but does that make her a bad mom bc her 16 year old got pregnant?

I think now is not the right time for her parenting book to come out due to britneys actions and now Jamie Lynn but a bad mother i dont know

yes, I think she is. when you let your 16 year old daughter live with her boyfriend, you have dropped the ball on your parenting skills. big time!

I think if it were JUST Jamie Lynn then maybe I could give her a pass.

But both her daughters are just huge messes.

I do think she bears a LOT of responsibility on this.

If I were her I would feel like a failure as a mother.

I don't think her book should be cancelled. If people want to hear what she has to say that's their business. As I understand it, the book is about how it was raising 2 kids who were in Hollywood, not so much parenting advice. Either way, I'm not interested, so I don't care if it's published.

Do I think she's responsible for what happened? Yes and no. I think that she had Britney under control more when she was 16. Maybe she saw how she rebelled so much when she reached adulthood and was trying to prevent Jamie Lynn from making the same mistakes so she gave her more space.

I honestly don't know what she was thinking letting her live with her boyfriend at 16. Regardless of how mature she seems she's still 16.

At the end of the day, I feel for her. I can't imagine how I'd feel if this were my kids going through all this nonsense. But I don't think I'll be taking any parenting cues from her.

A good parent can raise their kids with values that will prevent them from making bad decisions- I never had sex at that young an age because my mother taught us what the consequences were at a very young age. .


my mom taught me about the birds and bees at a young age, I had sex at 15...cause I wanted to and I thought I was "old enough"

I do not think it is fair to say that a good parent does x, y and z...many good parents have kids who are drug addicts or young parents, etc

I don't know if she's necessarily to blame . I do, however, think she made some wrong choices in raising the kids. Brit has been a star since a very young age. Did she want to be? Yes. But she was so young she couldn't make decisions for herself. It was Lynn's job to do that. And she chose to push her daughter into the spotlight, completely depriving her of a childhood. Brit had people depending on her from such a young age. Now Brit is rebelling against that. You would think Lynn wouldn't do the same with JL, but she did. I think she does it so she can live the life she lives. Notice we never hear anything about the brother. Why is that? Because he didn't go out and make Lynn millions of dollars? She disgusts me because I think it was unfair to push Brit the way she did and she did it with JL too.

You can't blame her for JL getting pregnant. She wasn't in the bed with them. I was fully educated about sex and still went and did it. Heck, my Aunt even told me my cousin was conceived when she was on BC AND used a condom. It didn't phase me. I was going to do what I was going to do, no matter what I knew could possibly happen. We can't say she didn't teach JL about sex because we don't live with them. What we can say is she helped the girls grow up way too fast and she has benefited significantly from it. She had the power to stop it andgive them a childhood, but she didn't. THAT'S my problem with her. If you can tell your kids they can't have sweets, even when they're throwing a tantrum, you can tell them they can be stars when they're old enough to handle it.

I don't think the book is supposed to be parenting advice, I thinks its more of her memoir of being a mom of two girls in show business.

That being said, I think the fact that both her daughters are facing "dilemmas" means she must be somewhat to blame. It is all fine to say they can do what they want, but I believe the way they live their lives has something to do with the way they were raised.

I think her book has been "shelved" by the publisher...
