Do you think they'll give me an early sono if I beg for it?
I'm having such a hard time relaxing and knowing that I'm having a healthy pg. I have my appt this weekend with the nurse practicioner for BW, and my sono isn't til April! Do you think she'll so a quick sono to put my mind at ease?

I would ask yes.....My Dr does them from the moment you get a BFP...theres no reason if your that anxious they shouldnt be able to do that for you!

i'll take the other side and say no. it has more to do with what your insurance will cover as to why or why not they do sonos....
can it hurt to ask? NOPE...but don't get upset if they cannot...or will not.

I had a sono at my first appt - 5w1d. *BUT* they could only see the sac, nothing else and honestly that made me more worrisome.

I agree. I wanted to push for an earlier sono but I didn't want to see something that would upset me. I go for my first one tonight (THANK GOD) at 8 weeks

Very true. I think I'll probably just try to keep myself distracted. This weekend I'll still be on the cusp of something showing (at almost 6wks there might not be much to see and I don't want to freak myself out).

I think your right. you can see a HB after 6 weeks, so I would wait, cause now Im obsessed with wondering kwim?
You'll get through it. Post a lot

My Dr wouldn't. I went to the dr when i first got my BFP. i was 4 weeks and she just did BW. No sono bc she said we really wouldn't see anything. But I was VERY early!!!
My first sono was at the High Risk dr @ 6 weeks 3 days.

my dr wouldnt do one immediately after my bfp. but they did do one at 7w only because i called to tell them i had a pinching sensation. so better safe than sorry they did the sono.

it can't hurt to ask the dr but alot of it has to do with what the insurance company will pay for. and sometimes they dont want to do it too early because they want to be able to get the heartbeat.
